Let us follow in the path of our fathers in the faith. Let us emulate the deep faith of the great saints, church fathers, and elders of the Church. They serve as an example to leading a life in Christ. This is done through ascetism, repentance, participation in the sacraments, ceaseless prayer, and love.
This is the initial post. From my posts on Page 6 until the most recent posts, the thread has not once mentioned Franciscan University.
Settle down friend. There is no need to get so angry and start venting. If you read the posts, you will see that many are indeed in reference to Fransican and the charismatic movement that takes place there, including “praise and worship” services and the charismatic conference. Fransiscan University is indeed a hotbed for the charismatic movement. I found an article written by the Catholic traditionalists–and the discussion began to focus on that. I began doing some research while this thread developed and then some charismatic Catholics joined the thread to defend their practices. From there, the thread began to change direction a bit. Threads on internet forums almost always evolve and spin off into other areas–that is the nature of a discussion forum. I have learned much during the progression of this thread.

Perhaps we should try to get a student from Steubenville on here to give us an assessment of what things are like now. I think jimmy goes there or went there. One of my room mates last year transferred from there to Ave Maria and he loved the charismatic aspect. He and I disagreed on it and would sometimes get into friendly debates about it. When I return to AMU in January, I plan on sharing with him and others that book by Blessed Seraphim (Rose) of Platina. Sadly, I cannot remember what it is called.

You have come to this discussion rather late. Please read my posts on page six. That will tell you “what’s wrong”.I have several online friends who go to the Franciscan University of Steubenville. From what I hear from them, it seems that the university is a great place to study theology and such. I do hear that they have some charismatic functions and stuff from there but what’s wrong with that?
