Fransician tau rosary

for my confirmation years ago my grandmother had given me a wooden roasry she got on her trip the jeruslem. heres the thing though, its not a regular rosary. the main part is consisted of 52 beads all unmarked or unseperated.(so there is no decade seperation) and the other thing is the little part (should be cross, big bead,3 little beads ,and then little bead) its tau cross, three little beads,big bead, 3more litttle beads, big bead(no medal) oh, and after the 26th bead there is a clasp

has anyone any idea how to pray this rosary(im used to the conventional rosary)any ideas?

( with her in the hospital ive done some soul searing and i was going through my drawers and came acroos the roasry, i figureed ther had to be reason taht i got tis one, so if anybody knows what im talking about please chime in.)

NOT what is called the Franciscan Crown aka The Seraphic Rosary. That’s seven decades seperated by large OF beads. So 70 small beads and 6 Large beads. The drop has 1 large bead (for the 1st decade), seperation, 2 small (for 2 more HMs after the 7 decades are done), seperation, 1 large and 1 small for the Pope (to gain the indulgences).

I ran through the 8th Edition of MY TREASURY OF CHAPLETS by Patricia S. Quintiliani. A 52 bead chaplet like yours is not listed. Curious.
 
Are you sure it is intended to be a rosary, and not a merely necklace? (The clasp you mention make me suspiscious)

It does not appear to be a Franciscan Crown which is seven distinct decades.

no its not my grandma wouldnt buy somthing like that unlesss it had meaning. so she saw something in it she thought it would help me in some way. shes very religious, she would just get me a decoration.

When I qualified my speculation as “merely” a necklace, I only meant as opposed to being a rosary. The tau crucifix certainly indicates it is nothing profane nor devoid of meaning.

But as others have said, it does not match the specification of any rosary or chaplet with which I am familiar. If you discover otherwise, I would be pleased to learn of it.

The big and little beads would seem to suggest that it’s a chaplet of some sort :hmmm:

Are there any big beads in the body of the rosary at all?

Edit: Looking at my booklets of chaplet prayers it occurs to me it could possibly be a Chaplet of the Way of the Cross
 
no there are no big beads in the body, only 52 unseperated small beads (there no metals anywhere on the rosary/chaplet.) however the beggining seems to macth up, but i have too many beads (52 to your 45) and no medals to speak of

ps maybe you huys can give some sitess that list chaplets and such
 
Maybe a chotki, for praying the Jesus Prayer???

There are also some sites that sell various rosaries & chaplets, that have the texts on them. But the above one, has a lot of different chaplets!!
 
i dont know if an one still cares but i think ive got it pegged! its a st. joseph chaplet (i think)only my beads are wood. its 60 beads in decades of 4 this macthes the number of my beads.i believe ive got thatnk you all for your help.
 
I know there are alot of Mp3 downloads for the rosary but someone (a Third Order Franciscan) asked me if there is a download for the Franciscan Crown rosary. Anybody know if there is? Thank you!
