I had a question about fraternal organizations in the Church. Is there something like the Knights of Columbus, but for young people? In my area there seems to be nothing but men who are 40+, I know that shouldnt matter but I would really like to belong to an organization where I can be around people my age who are going through the same things that I am. Does such an organization exist, and if not, would there be any way that I could possibly start one?

Men as young as 18 can join the Knights of Columbus. There is also a chapter for boys called “Squires.”

But if you want something that is specifically geared to teens and young adults, you might consider starting a Youth Group, if there are enough young people in your area to make it worthwhile.

Another thought occurs to me. In years past, some Boy Scout groups were Catholic, at least in practice. If a youth group is not quite what you seek, a Boy Scout pack might be closer.

NorthTexan-What do you mean for Young people? Part of belonging to a Fraternal Organization is that you bond and learn from men of all ages.

You might also look into the Order of Alhambra in your area.
Good luck with your search!
