Lust gets top billing because it is the one with the most people trying to normalize it. The other 6 have a much smaller following. There aren’t many threads here entitled, “Is gluttony always wrong?”
Though during this holiday season (Thanksgiving and Christmas) it may be worthwhile to start a thread on gluttony! 🙂 I stuff myself so much, it’s disgusting.

One of my primary cerebral turmoils with the Catholic Church and it’s teachings is the fact that it is regulated by men who have willingly given up the opportunity to enjoy the pleasures of a physical and mental relationship with a woman… and they the source of rules/regulations, advise and consolation in matters of sex and relationships…(??)
My doctrine is if my wife says “That feels good…” . I’m not trying to please Vatican City in bed… only my wife.
I think you answered your own question. If that is your “doctrine” than the fact that celibates have authority to decide what is moral and what is not makes a whole lot of sense. They are living out their sexuality in a temperate and wholesome way according to their state in life, I invite you to do likewise. 👍

Agree That They Are Wrong But Lust Is Only One Of The Seven Deadly Sins!
Being one of the Seven Deadly Sins doesn’t immediately mark something as mortally sinful. These are classifications, for instance, look at gluttony. Eating a bit past being full is not the same thing as engaging in a Roman orgy of eating and drinking massive quantities of the finest foods and drink, making a stop at the vomitorium, and then doing it all over again (or the modern equivalent).

For lust, is not keeping good custody of the eyes the same thing as fornication? Sexual sins are a bit different though, as many times they do constitute grave matter while other categories of sin may more often constitute lighter matter.
