As of August 1, 2012, and only for females who have health insurance, FREE BIRTH CONTROL! AND FREE SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASE COUNSELING! Wha…?

Lessee…You can have the free birth control pills, the free morning after pill at $800 a pop, and free FDA-approved IUD/intra-uterine device (and free chronic Pelvic Inflammatory Disease/PID and the free hole poked in the uterus) but no free sexually transmitted disease testing? Just free counseling? Thanks for holding that woman’s hand during her time of trial because there’s nothing like being comforted on your way to death by cervical cancer from HPV/Human Papilloma Virus that is spread even with free condom use. Is this the real War on Women? What a brilliant corporate model. And it uses OPFM, Other People’s Free Money!

But wait, there’s more FREE STUFF! Women with health insurance will get FREE CONTRACEPTIVE COUNSELING AND EDUCATION! This is great news for Planned Parenthood, as their think-tank arm, the Alan Guttmacher Institute at guttmacher.org, has shown that the more contraceptive education, the more unwanted pregnancies there will be and the more abortions because the failure rate is deliciously high even with perfect compliance using birth control methods. Gotta give the devil his due. This is brilliant.

But wait, there’s even more FREE STUFF! Women will get* FREE! domestic and interpersonal violence screening!* And you can bet mandatory reporters like Planned Parenthood clinics will mandatorily report female victims of violence to the police just like they mandatorily report victims of statutory rape…not. Smile for the hidden camera.

This is all brought to you FREE! from the same Democrats who voted against giving pregnant females hate crime protection; but that’s not love like sex is love so women can, with Sally Fields, say about the Democrats, “You love me! You really, really love me!” Or maybe it’s that other four-letter word. Hate.

…The free contraceptive coverage will take effect when the woman’s health plan is renewed, or when they begin a new health insurance plan. There are some exceptions, so it is important to check with your health insurance company to see when you will be eligible, according to ABC Action News.
Along with free birth control, the law also requires seven more preventative services to be covered for free, including:
“…well-woman visits, Gestational diabetes screening that helps protect pregnant women from one of the most serious pregnancy-related diseases, Domestic and interpersonal violence screening and counseling, FDA-approved contraceptive methods, and contraceptive education and counseling, Breastfeeding support, supplies, and counseling, HPV DNA testing, for women 30 or older, Sexually transmitted infections counseling for sexually active women, and HIV screening and counseling for sexually active women.”
The Department of Health and Human Services reports that 47 million women who did not have accesses to these eight services in the past will now be able to receive them for free.

Woman & Seed, do now crush the head of the Great Serpent, the Father of Lies and Murder, and vanquish his seed. Thanks. AMEN

I keep thinking much of the root of this is a society that continues to refuse to raise girls to be ladies and boys to be gentlemen. So much is going on that puts us in the position of looking at birth control, etc. as options for our lack of discipline.

It’s certainly an instant gratification, materialistic society in which we live. God bless future generations. 😦

Over riding news “It isn’t free”
Unless the manufacturer or owner of a product is giving it away, it isn’t free.

Somebody is paying and it’s “We the People”

You are 1000% right. All of us are going to pay because the insurance companys will just pass along their costs in their rates to us all.
The idea that it is free is just more spin from the obamadamas for the ignorant.

So true. Fact is that we have always had free birth control. It’s called Abstinence.

This is SO illustrative of Obama’s REAL priorities in governance. If you have diabetes and are reliant on insulin and measuring products to regulate your blood sugar, do you get 100% covered products? NO.

If you have cancer and will die of it without chemotherapy, did Obamacare push for 100% coverage and zero copay for your meds? NOPE.

If you have chronic asthma and require daily medication to prevent life-threatening attacks do you get zero copay medication? NO WAY.

But this administration singled out contraception, sterilization and early chemical abortive drugs (which they won’t admit are abortive, but cover up with semantics) for special consideration, calling the “preventive care.” As if pregnancy were a disease more serious than cancer, diabetes or asthma!

What a sad commentary on this man’s values and priorities.

Well said. Thank you for so gracefully articulating how I feel!

Sad indeed!
How many people suffer because these diseases are under-treated or untreated because they can not afford the treatment. But, an inordinate amount of money is spent on preventing a new life from coming into existence, and if that fails, to destroy it.😦 How low this world has sunk!

I think the fact that so many girls and women use medicaid when they get pregnant is the push for more available contraception and sterilization. Not only does the government pay for the prenatal care and delivery, but also provides health insurance (and other benefits) for the children until they are 18 years old. Considering the costs of supporting each pregnancy and resulting child, it’s a lot more economical to provide and encourage birth control. So I really don’t know why people are so surprised.

I was raised to be a gentlemen and girls were raised to be young ladies. We were taught self-discipline. We were taught certain lines should never be crossed. This did not happen overnight. It took 40 years of gradually, slowly poisoning Catholics of all ages to accept a hedonistic culture. The Church was gradually marginalized as a source of truth and guidance, replaced by the strident voices of the false freedom promoted by the devil who works through people who prefer lies and deceptions to the truth. I remember reading beautiful editorials in the newspaper every Christmas. The media, at the time, reflected and respected our Christian values.

Our culture was gradually taken away from us also. The Nativity in front of the City Hall which was there year after year? No one was forced to look at, or pray by it or leave money in it. Then, one day, the ACLU woke up and was shocked that a religious display was in front of a Public Building. IT’S UNCONSTITUTIONAL !!! They then sued cities over it. I then saw the Nativity on land near the City Hall with a signed that read the land was being leased by a private group. Then the ACLU woke up one day and was SHOCKED that there were religious monuments in PUBLIC BUILDINGS! Of course, they sued to have them removed, and I watched on TV as a priest lay prostrate across the stone steps of the building as the religious monument was being removed. And the ACLU did not pay a dime for the suits.

Or, the ACLU allowed you to have the Nativity in front of the building as long as Jesus was turned into another Christmas ornament. You had to surround Him with plastic candy canes, a Santa and reindeer.

We were lied to and deceived by a small group in 1969 who fed false information to the media about abortion. This has been exposed now, and by the grace of God, he became a Catholic.

In 1968, when Pope Paul VI had the encyclical Humanae Vitae published, the howl of protest from dissidents inside the Church was “…an event unprecedented in the history of the Church…”

“Within 24 hours, in an event unprecedented in the history of the Church, more than 200 dissenting theologians signed a full-page ad in The New York Times in protest. Not only did they declare their disagreement with encyclical’s teaching; they went one step further, far beyond their authority as theologians, and actually encouraged dissent among the lay faithful.”

The manufacturers of the birth control pill had to sell product. The immoral Sex without love Revolution could not have any barriers or limits. It meant artificial birth control sales for pills, condoms and later, various devices, would go up. Anyone listening to the Church meant lost sales. Then, in the 1970s, the new OPIUM DENS, called Adult Bookstores, opened. In 1968, the worst you could get was nudity and partial nudity, and this was like going from marijuana to heroin in a short time period, a five year plan that lasted from 1968 to 1973 that legalized abortion and removed homosexuality as a disorder due to the work of gay activists from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the American Psychiatric Association.

The biggest lie that was spread was that no one could control their sexuality. So, to all reading this, who decides when you have sex? You do.

To the OP, have hope. There is a reawakening that is occurring. It’s real but the secular media will not tell you about it.

On a secular basis, this MIGHT be a reasonable argument for having Medicare/caid pay for these things without a copay. But if you are paying attention, we aren’t talking about Medicare - we’re talking about ALL insurance.

Ok, I’m not entirely sure HOW this was done, but in the pediatrician’s office I used to work at: about 1/3 of the clientele had insurance through their employer for themselves but chose not to enroll their children. Instead they enrolled their children in public aid. If they were planning a pregnancy, they made sure they were off their insurance before they got pregnant and went on public aid. Apparently the premiums, copays and deductibles were costly, so they just didn’t use it.

I do think the insurance companies and medicaid are tied together and I think mandating all this coverage is a way to manage it all.

This new mandate will ensure that people who are financially able to subscribe to insurance actually do so, instead of going on public aid because they all of a sudden find themselves needing healthcare (whether they planned it or not).

If so, that’s a typical solution by government in our era: respond to fraud and abuse of the system NOT by punishing those committing the fraud, but by imposing more requirements on overybody and using it as an excuse to forward their agenda.

But I believe you ARE onto something in your responses here. We’ve reached a place in our civilization where our economic system is so skewed from reality that the culture views children as an economic drag on the system to be avoided rather than as an investment in future human thriving. Not coincidentally, the USA has seemingly finally joined Europe in a long term total fertility rate below replacement level.

My first post still sums it up: Babies are a worse public wellness threat than diabetes, cancer or asthma, so we set our policies accordingly. Nice.
