After a recent DNS (if you don’t know what it is, don’t ask) security warning, I looked into OpenDNS (opendns.com) and I found out that can filter Internet browsing for free.
Do check it out in order to protect your family and yourself.
This is a good tip too. And it doesn’t have to be either-or, as filtering software can be used along side OpenDNS.
I’m a fan of OpenDNS because then the whole network can be protected. If the broadband router is setup to use OpenDNS, then virtually any computer on its network is protected from coming across smut.
At my parish, I was concerned about it, because there’s a wireless network available for ministries when they meet. Given the liability that it may be, I was glad to find OpenDNS and make sure that virtually no smut will get into the parish, accidentally or intentionally.
