Freedom in theological elaborations of revealed truth

I was reading through Vatican II. document Unitatis redintegratio and I don’t really understand this:

*All in the Church must preserve unity in essentials. But let all, according to the gifts they have received enjoy a proper freedom, in their various forms of spiritual life and discipline, in their different liturgical rites, and even in their theological elaborations of revealed truth. In all things let charity prevail. If they are true to this course of action, they will be giving ever better expression to the authentic catholicity and apostolicity of the Church. *

What kind of freedom in elaborating revelaed truth are they talking about? Can somebody explain this to me or better give me some examples?

I think what they were getting at is that we all experience God as indivuals, the Holy Spirit enlightening us in His own way according to our understanding, personalities and experiences. As a result, we have our own personal ways of expressing the truths we’ve experienced which may be able to show forth the light we’ve been given more clearly than if we’re forced to stay within certain defined ways of stating theological truths. But in any case our beliefs and statements should always adhere to and not conflict with the teachings of the Church.
