I have seen in public and online people telling others how to believe or worship.

Some tell them there wrong when the other person is just doing it the way they where raised to.

I was told Christians are normally always nice and not forcefull with religion. I then was then told by someone that I’m wrong or liberal.

I found it rather rude and I would never think to do the same to them.
It was like talking to a brick wall they are just to one sided. I felt like I was a bad person for just following what I was tought.

What are your views on matters like this?

Christians are many things, however, most are only nice to those who agree with their theological construct. Catholics, prior to about 1980 or so, only informed on the Faith to those who inquired, this seems to have changed now so that even the most ignorant feel authorized to quote and opine for the Body of Christ. I think it is sad really, none of us would trust information from re. engineering from anyone but a licensed engineer, yet get on a parish council and stand back.

If someone calls you liberal you might want to read Rerum Novarum, I like the distributionism to which this encyclical gave rise. Catholics are very liberal to many because we know that God allows us to be human and rewards accordingly. NB the list of Saints is long, but we have no list of condemned to Hell.

I my self do my best to get along with all people I meet. I just do not like when I see somone who is upset that somone does not believe in everything they do even if its the slightest thing. Its as if they do not know that people have free choice and we have to be rational I my self do not follow every single rule I follow the moral ones and legal laws.
I think some people bring faith into things where its not needed also.

The statements made in the OP is rather vague IMHO.

I must assert that to admonish sinners is a requisite of the Faith. To do so otherwise would be very cruel indeed.

I would agree that there is a level of obnoxiousness that is unChristlike in terms of giving witness to your faith.

But I would also assert that this is VERY rare in the USA today compared to the FAR worse offense of flaccid, luke warm faith. (I’m OK as-am, you’re OK as-are, God loves us all and is preparing a big party for everybody in heaven, that sort of thing) Jesus had some rather harsh things to say about those with lukewarm faith.

That reminds me: I have to get to confession, tonight’s the last chance before the Triduum.

Inasmuch as we are all sinners, consider yourself admonished.

Yes, I agree. Those who refuse to go their room and close the door seem to be the most obnoxious. One may only pray that the ignorance is immutable.

Well, if they’re wrong, they should be corrected. Not everybody can be right. There’s only one Truth. Correction should be charitable, however.

Well, Jesus wasn’t nice. He knocked over the tables of the money-changers in the temple. Christianity isn’t about being nice. Christianity is about being good. Lying is frequently nice, but it’s not good.

And so Christians aren’t supposed to be nice either. We are to be charitable, but we should not tolerate falsehood and error. Being “nice” and not pointing out an error is bad for the other person, because they may not know their error. Niceness is empty, duplicitous and typically false.

Being good and being true is far superior to being nice.

If we hide what we believe is true and don’t voice our disagreements because it’s not “nice” to do so, one or all will remain in falsehood without ever being presented with the truth.

There is only One Truth. If somebody is mistaken, it is uncharitable to let them remain in their error. It is uncharitable also to insult them. Calling you a “liberal” may be seen as a little insulting, but nobody should be offended if they’re told they’re “wrong.”

If somebody thinks I’m wrong, I want to know why, and if I am wrong, I need to start believing what’s right, and if the person telling me is themselves wrong, I should try to show them why they’re wrong. That way, hopefully, we both end up understanding what the true answer is.

So if somebody says you’re wrong, ask yourself this question: “Am I?” Maybe you are. Don’t cling to falsehood if you are. Argue your point and use reason to guide you. Maybe you’re right and you can show the other person that they’re wrong. Maybe not.

But we can’t believe different things and all be correct. That would be illogical. If two people disagree, one is always wrong. And sometimes both are.

lol you used philosophy in there I like that I love to use it alot or when I can but some just get confused.
see sometimes I think peoples minds are clouded they get set on one track and just go along with it. In reality the track might curve and we need to change slightly for that reason but then it goes back to normal after that curve in are life.
Some are not as flexible and can not change very fast and this is ok.
