The Denver Police Department is investigating a sergeant who allegedly threatened to arrest a 26-year-old for displaying a derogatory bumper sticker about President George W. Bush. Shame it doesn’t say what it said!!

Then there’s this chap who was visited by the secret service for displaying anti-Bush…Well it’s not really a bumper sticker…It’s more like sign writing!!!


Shame it doesn’t tell you what the first one said! Although I did find some on line. I wont post them in case someone here assasinates me, but I’ll give you a link if you want to buy some?

Why do you feel compelled to slam us and our president. It was 6 years ago today(1/26) that Bill made his infamous TV speech saying, “I did not have sex with that woman!” I don’t remember you speaking out against that. The president never left a young woman to drown in the back seat of his car like Ted Kennedy did. Never saw a word from you about that. Is it only conservatives you feel free to slam?
Since you are in the UK I don’t think you have to worry about the American law inforcement personnel coming after you, you are much more likely to be killed by an act of terrorism committed by the IRA or a radical Muslim.

Lance mate, you mistake my motives. I’m not a republican or a democrat, I’m a Catholic.

I was trying to say I’m quite happy to criticise either side, and my own government, and the French and the Germans and anyone else in the news.

Honestly, I’m sorry if I offended you, that’s not my objective. You support this bloke and some things he does seem a bit dodgy to me. So the best way for me to learn why you support him is to ask you is it not? Then I might better understand your position and you might better understand mine?

I think he’s a stupid kid. I think no one else would have batted an eye, but because he is in line for the throne that should have been considered. I don’t think he meant anything by it though. What do you think?

The way that people jump on me when I try and talk about President Bush fascinates me. It’s sheepish IMO. It’s interesting. I think the Presidents policies contradict Catholic beliefs and find it incredible that many here support him. Am I missing something? The best way to find out is to talk to you. What’s it got to do with me? Well, I visit the US regularly and love it. I have family all over the show (Boston, NY, LA) and love them, and America is so big now, everything it does effects everyone. So everyone is interested in American policy and feelings. I think that’s fair enough, don’t you?

I think this is progress. I want to be respected for thinking what I do, not accused of listening to FOX and being single mindedly stupid. I am sorry but some of the threads here are accusatory and not too good for communication. I would like some of the words that cause strife to be taken out of these posts.

I wrote some silly post early this morning to this post because I am taking this one light heartedly. I think bumper stickers are goofy at best. Yet, I respect my President. If someone for instance had one that was foul languaged or perhaps talking about violence, then I would want the police to stop the offender.

It would take another thread on why I respect the President of our country. I would honestly tell you why if I was convinced you could or really wanted to listen to it. We perhaps get better more fair coverage of him than you do. I have been reading the BBC and the coverage is pretty slanted. It is no wonder you would expect us to hate him.
