I would like to inform as many Catholics as possible to a Truth which seems to be lost in our world today. A person can not be a Mason and a Catholic. I am a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, and you can not be a Knight and a mason also. It is a grave matter to be a mason and a Catholic. Pope Benedict XVI has declared, that if you are a mason, you are in the state of mortal sin and can not receive Holy Communion. If anyone needs the documented proof of this fact, I can provide them with it. So many Catholics today belong to both and are unaware that it is a grave matter to belong to this cult. You can also read a book “Behind the Lodge Door” and the “Deadly Deception” if you would like insight into the cult.
I am not writing to bash masons. I feel that all Catholics need to be informed of the truth. Please inform as many Catholic-masons as you can. What they do with the information is of course up to them, however, they need to know the truth. Freemasonry, is a secret cult that hides behind their charity work as Shriners. Secretly the masons have only one agenda, which is destroy the Catholic faith. The Vatican knows this and this is why it is prohibited to be a member of the cult.

I am a former Eastern Star. I recently met someone who is Catholic and Eastern Star. When I mentioned to her that the Church doesn’t allow that she told me that times have changed. She moved from another state about 6 months ago and she said her Priest is a Mason and that it’s alright as long as he doesn’t hold office or go beyond the 3rd degree. I asked her to please do some research b/c the Pope says no.

Yes, I have come across many priest and strong church going Catholics who feel the same way that that is a thing of the past. This is why I have posted this thread. Nothing has changed, and it never will. The document from then Cardinal Ratzinger and accepted by His Holiness Blessed John Paul II, is quite clear, and states that no Bishop or priest can render his opinion to the fact. He left no room for error because this is such a serious issue.

Let us all pray for our family members that have left the Catholic Church over this issue. They do not understand…I have someone in my life and it is very hard…how to help them? No idea - prayer is my only recourse at this time.**

Is that because they believe themselves to be ‘ignorant’ of the truth at such a low-level, whereas holding office or moving beyond 3rd degree might privy them to the real motives of the group? If they don’t reach the level where they ‘have’ to know, the chance that they ‘might not know’ will certainly excuse them with the Almighty…or at least they hope…

I had some fraternity brothers who were Catholic and became Masons. They tried getting me to join, and I told them that I absolutely would not be a part of it, and then Holy Father had warned against them. They told me it was all a bunch of stuff from the past, and the reasons Catholics didn’t like them is because no one is allowed to preach their own religious beliefs there, and Catholics didn’t like that. Unfortunately, I was never able to convince them of the real truth…

I wonder how many Knights councils will be reduced or even disbanded for lack of membership if the Masons are forced out.

I had heard about this after a couple of friends a few years back (non-catholics) joined a mason lodge and were talking to me about joining. Me being someone who doesn’t just join in whatever everyone else is doing decided to look into the masons. The first thing I ran into was misinformation, secrecy, and I saw the information about the pope stating a Catholic cannot be a mason for several reasons. I continued to look into it and found out that they actually have certain odd rituals that are pagan-like and very, well, odd to me. On the outside, they seemed like an organization with good intentions, but the big problem I had with it is that there is no transparency. How does anyone know where the money goes that is collected through donations? In the end I didn’t feel comfortable at all joining and so I never went. I knew I couldn’t get into that nonsense, and I sure wasn’t going to take any oath that would compromise my commitment to Christ.
