The Church also has a problem with Catholics taking “blood oaths” and acknowledging other gods as legit.

Oh yes, one more tidbit of information i thought i’d share… for all of you who don’t know, Michael Baigent, author of “Holy Blood, Holy Grail” (the book that inspired the Da Vinci Code and countless other spin-offs) is editor of Freemasonry Magazine. www.freemasonrytoday.com

“Holy Blood, Holy Grail” is a book that proposes that Jesus never died on the cross and started a royal lineage bloodline with Mary Magdalene that continues to this day. This is where Dan Brown got his ideas from. I’m sure everyone knows already though what the book is about, i just thought i’d give that brief synopsis to those who didn’t already know.
I’ve read theories that this so-called “royal bloodline” will be the bloodline that the anti-christ will come through proclaiming to be the “true messiah.” The stage is being set indeed for his arrival i think.

If Baigent (author of blasphemous anti-christian books) being the editor of Freemasonry Magazine doesn’t say something about the nature and agenda of Freemasonry i don’t know what does.

The facts are the facts. God Bless.

Actually, what it says, Matthewd777, is that Baigent has a job with a British Masonic magazine that is not widely read in the US, wrote a book (before he got that job) that is not Masonic dogma or belief or agenda, and that Dan Brown (a non-Mason) may have read Baigent’s book.

Whether Baigent wrote the book before or after he became editor of the magazine doesn’t matter because he nor any masonic organizations have ever denounced the book. Baigent’s book is anti-christian, the Freemasons have been associated over the course of history with anti-christianity. What else is there to say Sweeney? You don’t join organizations that you don’t agree with.

…a brief excerpt from Freemason Albert Pike’s “Morals and Dogmas”

“Lucifer, the Son of the Morning! Is it he who bears the Light, and with its splendors intolerable blinds feeble, sensual, or selfish Souls? Doubt it not!”

I think that pretty much states what they’re about.

Matthew-

Quotes from Albert Pike are the irrelevant ramblings of an addled 19th Century Masonic author who wrote a book called “Morals and Dogma” that is only read by non-Masons who have use him to prove that Masonry is Satanic. Albert Pike spoke only for himself, and Masons consider his book a quaint embarassment.

Masonic organizations are not in the habit of denouncing books that are not about Masonry, and using this to prove your point probably wouldn’t even work at a 7th grade forensics meet.

Hmmm… i think i’d rather trust in the Popes and many other Catholic priests and their viewpoint on it rather than yours. There is much information on Freemasonry being tied into anti-catholicism and satanism. All religions are equal is one of the fundamental doctrines of masonry. Jesus Christ told us that HE is the only way to The Father. I find it hard to believe that everyone is fabricating all of this information about Masonry, including the Popes and Catholic Priests in addition to countless Protestants as well. If it makes you feel good to be right, then continue thinking that you are, until then i guess that i’ll move into evangelizing 6th graders, since i wouldn’t do well with 7th graders. Thanks and i’m done with this conversation.

Me, too Matt - futher dialogue with you is pointless. Move on to those 6th graders.

Some people no matter how much evidence you put forth to them, have already convinced themselves that Masonry is acceptable and not spiritually harmful.
Even the founder of The Church of Satan spoke about Masonry. Anton LaVey, founder of The Church of Satan commented in his book, “The Satanic Rituals” (Avon Books 1972, p. 78.)
Code:
"...Masonic orders have contained the most influential men in many governments, and virtually every occult order has many Masonic roots."

Regardless of what any "ex-mason" has to say, this stuff is real and is NOT to be tampered with. Listen to our Popes and other Catholic priests, read the evidence, the encyclicals, the books written about it. Paul Fisher wrote an excellent book entitled, "Behind The Lodge Door." (Tan Book, 1988)
So as stated in previous posts, i've given examples of three men that thrive or thrived on hatred of Christianity, all three are or were Masons before their death. Aleister Crowley, Michael Baigent, and Anton LaVey.

And Hitler was a Catholic, so by your lilliputian logic, Matt, all Catholics hate Jews, which we all know isn’t true.

The Church says we can’t be Masons, and that’s all I need to know. Nonsensical posts about Satan make us all look ignorant.

From “HUMANUM GENUS (On Freemasonry)”
-Pope Leo XIII
Encyclical of Pope Leo XIII 20 April 1884
ewtn.com/library/ENCYC/L13HUMAN.HTM

(Do the Masons like the Papacy? I think not, see below from the encyclical…)
  1. But against the apostolic see and the Roman Pontiff the contention of these enemies has been for a long time directed. The Pontiff was first, for specious reasons, thrust out from the bulwark of his liberty and of his right, the civil princedom; soon, he was unjustly driven into a condition which was unbearable because of the difficulties raised on all sides; and now the time has come when the partisans of the sects openly declare, what in secret among themselves they have for a long time plotted, that the sacred power of the Pontiffs must be abolished, and that the papacy itself, founded by divine right, must be utterly destroyed.
(As we can see below, just because the Masonic temples are in broad daylight and not concealed doesn’t mean that they’re not satanic in nature.)
  1. There are several organized bodies which, though differing in name, in ceremonial, in form and origin, are nevertheless so bound together by community of purpose and by the similarity of their main opinions, as to make in fact one thing with the sect of the Freemasons, which is a kind of center whence they all go forth, and whither they all return. Now, these no longer show a desire to remain concealed; for they hold their meetings in the daylight and before the public eye, and publish their own newspaper organs; and yet, when thoroughly understood, they are found still to retain the nature and the habits of secret societies.
  2. What, therefore, sect of the Freemasons is, and what course it pursues, appears sufficiently from the summary We have briefly given. Their chief dogmas are so greatly and manifestly at variance with reason that nothing can be more perverse. To wish to destroy the religion and the Church which God Himself has established, and whose perpetuity He insures by His protection, and to bring back after a lapse of eighteen centuries the manners and customs of the pagans, is signal folly and audacious impiety. Neither is it less horrible nor more tolerable that they should repudiate the benefits which Jesus Christ so mercifully obtained, not only for individuals, but also for the family and for civil society, benefits which, even according to the judgment and testimony of enemies of Christianity, are very great. In this insane and wicked endeavor we may almost see the implacable hatred and spirit of revenge with which Satan himself is inflamed against Jesus Christ.—So also the studious endeavor of the Freemasons to destroy the chief foundations of justice and honesty, and to co-operate with those who would wish, as if they were mere animals, to do what they please, tends only to the ignominious and disgraceful ruin of the human race.

I never said that ALL masons hate Christians. I named three that are/were anti-christianITY. There is a difference between hating the religion and doctrines of Christianity and hating the people in it.

The point is…i’m providing information from Catholics, i.e., Popes, or Priests regarding what they’ve said or written about Freemasonry. I’m not here to argue with anyone, i’m just presenting information that people might not have been aware of. They can then judge for themselves. The word HATE was put into my mouth by you Sweeney, i don’t appreciate you putting words into my mouth. For someone who is an EX-mason though, you’re awful defensive against a sect that the Papacy has denounced. The members themselves are God’s children, as we all are, but what the organization stands for is namely to destroy The Church as stated in the encyclical above from Pope Leo XIII.

Chill out, boyo. I was merely pointing out a few out errors in your little diatribe. I don’t disagree with the Church’s stand on Masonry at all.

BTW, you don’t have to TYPE IN ALL CAPS - it’s rude to yell.

I worship God. Jesus being God Himself is first in my life. Masonry is only something I do as a social fellowship. Please learn more about the subject before condemning it.
So the Lodge is more important to you than the clear and consistent teaching of the Church?

JSA

I agree BlackRobe, if Jesus is someone’s first and foremost love in their life, then they would honor what his Church teaches. In this case they teach that no Catholic is permitted to be affiliated with any Masonic organization.

If “Nonsensical posts about Satan” makes us all look ignorant, then Pope Leo XIII and Pope Pius IX must like to make us all look ignorant, since Pius IX himself referred to the Freemasons as the “Synagogue of Satan.”
Think before you make accusing remarks.
