Three are many freemasonry. Most are based on STONE-masonry. This is the derivative.

There are also freemasonry for which membership is exclusive [in that sense secret] in that to become a member one must be a Christian. One must profess faith in the Most Holy Trinity. One must be a committed Christian. One must swear on oath to defend Christianity whenever it is attacked or meet with adversary.
Muslims, Jews, Hindu’s etc are NOT eligible for membership unless they are prepared to swear on oath belief in the FULL TRINITY OF GOD. That by definition is acknowledgement of Christ as the second Person of the Blessed Trinity.

One must be chivelrous, one must love one’s neighbour.

Now, I appreciate all that has been said and by all means pray for me. In particular: to the Holy Spirit for guidance.

But I just cannot help but doubt that such a branch of freemasonry is inspired by evil.

You must realize that you have a defiant attitude about the Church.

Everything else is secondary and irrelevant if you wish to be a Catholic in more than label only.

I am sorry if that sounds a bit harsh, but I have to tell you that as you need fraternal correction now. And yes, I love you, and yes I love all human kind, but that does not mean I have to join groups the Church says NO to.

I was ignorant of freemasonry before, not until I join a Catholic Charismatic group here in our town. One of my fellow Charismatic brother shared to me that on the other Charismatic (forgot the name, all i remember is that they are conducting a l30-day fasting purely liquid, milk/water and just soda crackers with talks/sharings/bible study and teachings) group where he also belong, they had a participant who was a mason running for 32nd degree…the guy-mason shared that when he was about to be initiated for the 32nd degree during the ritual he was tasked to enter to a very dark room with a huge red curtain…when he was entering the room, entering through the curtains he was shocked, he saw the devil and is waiting for him. At that very moment, he turned back and excused that he was not feeling well…

You see it is really a very dangerous cult…and right now, my friend informed me that after the 30-day fasting they had never seen their friend, they have heard that the guy returned back to freemasonry, they say the masons are up to kill him if he will quit, since he already knew alot of the cult…and the guy was afraid to die…

This is one of those topics that the particiapnts seem to have more interest in than the OP (that’s me). I didn’t mean for this to evolve into an argument between Catholic’s and Masons. I didn’t know that there was still such divisive issues between the two. That’s my bad.

Sixtus, thanks for the info you gave me. I"m probably not going to be joining the Masons, although my fahter-in-law (Jewish) was a member (I learned yesterday). Don’t know how involved he was. Mostly, I don’t have the time for such extracirrular activities.

A very prominant freemason asked me if it was true that I was catholic? I told him that I was, as it was my belief that where humanity is, there Christ must be also.
