Frequency of The Sacrament of Confession

Scrupulosity as we mean it here is an unhealthy fixation on sin, and a compulsive attachment to thinking that everything one does is a sin. Hence it is not something good, but rather requires spiritual and psychological care.

That is an admirable desire on your part. And true that we are to only receive in a state of grace.

I would question if you are mortally sinning twice in one day on the days when you serve twice and need to go to confession twice. I would hope it is not for the same mortal sin each day, and hopefully not committed so soon after the first confession that you would need to go to confession again later that same day.

My advice would be to speak with your priest to ensure you understand that the action you think is a mortal sin, the matter is actually grave matter, and exactly what full consent to it entails. Sometimes when we think we have full knowledge of the matter, this may not be so.

If you are mortally sinning on a daily basis, and sometimes twice on the same day, my advice would be to try harder to co-operate with the grace God gives you!

I try to confess every sin, even venial,

Admirable. Just one venial sin is sufficient for the sacrament of penance. Confessing each one can be admirable too, (but it can lead to scrupulosity if not guarded against), if you’re striving to overcome sin.

Praise worthy to ensure each is in a state of grace prior to receiving.

The servers at my parish do not do this, but receive the Sacrament of Penance when they wish or need to go.

Some years ago one priest advised me to go to Confession every 2-3 weeks at most and mention 5-7 sins at most. Monthly is common amongst my friends.

In another post you said "I only wish to receive the Eucharist worthily, so as not to sin gravely by receiving unworthily. " Well even if you have committed venial sins - you are still in a state of grace, therefore you would still be receiving worthily - without going to the sacrament of confession before each communion.

Very few people in this life (apart from some Saints) achieve such a state that they receive without any sin on their souls whatsoever. If that was the requirment to receive, then hardly anyone - priest or layperson would be receiving communion. And Christ has not made it such a condition.
