Friar David very ill

Many of you will remember Friar David, Ocarm, who shared many thoughts here in TC. Not having seen him in awhile, I sent a message to see if he is ok. This is what he has responded:
It is my cancer. An abcess formed under my right butt cheek and they had to do an emergency procedure cutting out the abcess and all dead tissue and then they gave me a colonoscopy.

That was December 13th. They took me in again for a bit more cleaning on the 15th. They are in the process of cleaning out the wound twice a day until it is no longer draining heavily but I think my doc may keep me a bit longer before sending me to a rehab hospital or home as he is my oncology doc that is the head of the department as well as being Charge Doctor of the floor.

pain meds kicking in please feel free to spread the news especially for healing and God’s Will be done.

May God strengthen him and help him heal completely. In your charity, kindly offer a prayer for him in his sufferings. Thanks, everyone.
 
I am so sorry to hear that Friar David is ill. I have missed his posts these last few months, but thought maybe he was just too busy.

I will certainly include him in my prayers.

Friar David, keep us updated. We miss you.

I offered my Chaplet of Divine Mercy just now at 3:00 for your health and strengthening.

I hope you see this. The Franciscan Brothers are keeping you in our prayers at mass and the LOTH. Do what the doctor and prior say. Let the friars pamper you.

I remember back when David was still discerning. I am saddened to hear of this illness. I will offer a rosary tomorrow for him and keep him in my prayers.
