Friar David very ill

I know it has been a long time since I sent out a letter but I wanted to wait till I knew somethings.

My wound is healing well. I still need to see the surgeon who will make any decisions about my going home.

I recently had an MRI to see if the tumor had infiltrated my spine but it has not. The last CT scan I had was just before my last surgery and my oncologist took a look at it and said that yes there has been some growth in the tumors but he expected this. With me being off of the infusion so long he thought there would be more growth but there was not. I had been off of the chemo infusion (but I still was taking the pills but those are considered a maintenance form of chemo when taken alone). What he did not expect was how little the growth was so over all he was happy and I have restarted the infusion which I hate as it causes a day of cold sweats.

We have a new nurse-practitioner here at the nursing home and she helped me get a handle on my ostomy… I feel much more confident about it.

The plans for the future is that once the wound is healed and I do not need any special care I will move to a parish in Chicago and work there. I will take one class a semester at CTU.

This is so good to hear from you, Friar David, and I’m glad to hear that your CT scan showed an improving result.

Do you remember JimR-OCDS? He just had cancer surgery the 12th and they believe they got it all and he did not need the ‘ostomy?’ They are awaiting results on the biopsy to be sure it did not spread to his lymph nodes before making any further decisions about drug therapy. I posted a note from his wife in Spirituality, where I have seen you post on occasion. Thought you might want to know.

Keep up your smiles and your hope, and get better soon! 🙂

My dear Brother in Christ,
Please know that you are kept in prayer and how much you are love by our Alford. Be true to your calling as He will forever be faithful to you! Eternity is our call to please our Creator and Lord! Our creator made us and is in control, not us. Mystery is something beyond man- He alone , our Creator and Lord is worthy of our devotion. Life on this side if eternity is short comparison . All that we suffer is something in hat we share with Christ… My prayers for stench to endure with Him! Please that all the Saint in Heaven are praying for you!!!
