What a fun story. I’m saddened that they occasionally got flipped off and had obscenities yelled at them, but it sounds as if people mostly were kind.

My gosh, I can’t imagine going for a 300 mile walk with no money or provisions for lodging. But God provided. 🙂

That is such a neat story. I find it a little odd in the photographs with the priest in Arlington that they’re in monk robes and he is in secular clothing. It really testifies to the power of religious clothing in today’s society. It’s like a magnet, people know these men are different. I know my former priest (who is quite liberal and a chaplain at a university) is almost never in clericals much less a cassock . For me, that almost says I’m ashamed to be a priest. In marked contrast the priests that went with our group to WYD '08 always were in clericals, and one always wore a cassock. Very interesting, but also quite sad as to the state of our clergy.

Blessings,
Chantal

What a cool story!

If I saw those guys, I’d help them out!

Too bad that some people acted like jerks, though…😦

A great testament - walking the walk while talking the talk. It would be a great experience to spend a little time with these brothers - at dinner, at prayer, or just walking a while.

I am glad that you enjoyed their story and feel inspired by it. I met them and spent much time with them, and am the person responsible for their story making it into the Post.
