Friday penance problem

I have recently deeply been praying the rosary right before I go to bed for my Friday penance. The only problem is that sometimes I notice that I don’t start praying or end the rosary until after midnight. So technically my prayer usually ends a few minutes after midnight (AKA a few minutes into Saturday). Am I violating my Friday penance by performing it Friday night and having it sometimes run until 12 AM Saturday? Sometimes I completely forget about my penance and end up praying the rosary at 1 AM!
