Dear Brothers and Sisters,

For sometime now, it seems that “Reparation” is not mentioned much, despite the almost overwhelming evidence of sins committed in the world today.

Catholics were more aware of their need to do penance for their own sins and the sins of others, in times past, it seems to me. I grew up at a time when First Friday devotions were common and later on the First Saturdays were practiced with some regularity.

Reparation to the Sacred Heart on Fridays and reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on Saturdays is still practiced by some but I wonder how many on this Forum continue to have any sense of our need to offer Reparation? I try to make all Fridays and Saturdays days of Reparation and I wonder if any others are inclined to do so. I’d be grateful to know your thoughts on this. Thanks.

The Two Hearts Devotion promotes an all-night reparation vigil at several area churches each First Friday and First Saturday. At other times we in USA are currently constantly being reminded to make reparation for the sins committed in the clergy sexual abuse scandals.

I try to do some weekly following the request of Our Lady at Fatima and other unapproved apparitions.

Dear Vico,

Thanks for your reply and for the Reparation you offer in union with the confraternities you have joined. May many more seek to comfort the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

Dear Tis_Bearself,

Thanks for your reply and for your efforts to make Reparation for the sins which continue to wound the Heart of God and the Heart of our Mother.

My dear Mother taught me much by her example of patient suffering. She had both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis in her joints which gave her chronic pain. One time, I asked her: “How do you stand it?” She simply told me: "I just keep saying – ‘All for Thee O Sacred Heart of Jesus’ "

My Mom also had a tender devotion to Our Mother Mary and told me once that she prayed to Mary because Mary she was a Mother too, and “she understands”.

To this day, I believe that our Faith formation begins in the home. It is no wonder that Sister Lucia said satan’s final battle would be to attack the family – that battle has begun and continues. The priest scandal is an attack against not only the domestic Church at home but the worldwide family of God everywhere!

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.
Righteous Heart of Joseph, pray for us.

Private revelations have to be approved by the Church in order to have their contents discussed here. Usually approval comes from the local bishop. Sometimes approval comes from the Vatican. Many are never officially approved, but are “approved for faith expression” which means you can do the devotion of fasting, saying prayers etc, but the revelation itself is not approved so I don’t want to talk about “what Mary reportedly said” in them on here. The devotion I do was approved by Archbishop Chaput but the revelation itself has not been approved.

P.s. thanks for the cake day wishes!
