Hi all,

I am NOT a vegetarian, but I have a good friend who is–she doesn’t eat meat at all–but does eat/drink dairy/egg products.

She doesn’t do anything ‘special’ or different on Fridays during Lent.

I disagree. I would think that if you are a vegetarian, you should do something else in place of the no-meat requirement. I suggested that she go “vegan” on Fridays (meaning no dairy/egg) or some other penance/sacrifice.

I’d be interested in hearing other thoughts…

 LOOK OUT IT’S A VEGETARIAN! Oh, no. Sorry. Nevermind. LOOK OUT!

😛

Anyway, I’d definitely give up something else. The point of going meatless is to make a sacrifice to remind you of and let you share in the suffering of Christ. So if going meatless is not a sacrifice, then you should sacrifice something that is.

Maybe your friend should take up eating meat for Lent! 😃

❤️

As far as I know, your friend doesn’t have to give up anything if she is already not eating meat - in other words she doesn’t sin by eating the same every day. If she gives up more than that’s her choice.
