Friend is getting an elective tubal ligation

Any suggestions on how to convince her that this is WRONG. My first thought was to give her a theology of the body book, but my wife says I am thinking like a man. She thinks conversation is better than literature. The friend is very active in our church-so not only do we not want to offend, but we don’t want this to be scandalous to others either.
 
Going to assume this is a very close personal friend if she shared such information with your family.

Your wife would be wise to sit down with the Catechism and say “dear friend Suzy, I could not live with myself if I did not remind you that what you plan to do is against the teaching of Holy Mother Church. Here is the passage - read it to her - I will never mention this again, but, I want you to know that I care about your soul”. Hug then let the conversation go from there.

I like what a previous poster said about being concerned about the lady’s soul. As for bringing it up again, I’d suggest that it be made clear that if she ever wanted to talk the door is open.
