I would encourage her to tell her parents (and offer to be there with her). She’s probably feeling scared and lonely and confused.

If she doesn’t, then I would go to them and tell them.

I’d also let the family handle the boyfriend and stay away from that aspect of it.

Just a few moments ago, she just informed me that she has a strained relationship with her parents and that they physically harm her. That’s a big (understandable :() reason why she doesn’t want to tell them.

I wish this were all just some bad nightmare. But obviously the Lord wants His Divine justice carried out right?

Please, call 1-800-395- HELP. They will guide her to to a safe place. Please, you could save two lives.

Wouldn’t you need the girl to press charges to pursue a statutory rape investigation? The girl would probably protect her boyfriend and either say she lied to the friend or lied to the boyfriend about her age or something. Hearsay evidence is not accepted anyway.

Tell your friend you will go with her and have her call the number hotline mentioned above. then ask her if she wants you to do this with her to her parents I have done this years ago with a friend. it turns out she kept the child and my own mom helped me and her make these very adult decisions. I would totally stay out of the statutory rape thing mentioned here. The issue is she needs to feel loved stop looking for it in the wrong places and needs to have some hope. Which you can offer. Her parents should have the chance to parent their child in this and teach her love.

In cases of abuse, the state can bring charges without the victim’s prompting. There usually needs to be physical evidence of the abuse or crime, and the baby would be that evidence. The boyfriend is probably pushing for an abortion to hide his guilt. “Kill the child, and no one will know” kind of mentality. This “boyfriend” is abusing this girl and protecting only himself. He needs a little jail time.

If she is abused by her parents, she is simply trading one abusive relationship for another. Get this girl help, and call that number Kager posted. If you don’t, she’ll continue to live a destructive life. If she gets help NOW she still has a chance to have a noraml adult-hood, not one that is full of bad relationships, regrets, and abusive/destructive behavior.

This girl is afraid. Don’t add to that fear by talking police right now. Call the help line.
