Friend sick physically and emotionally

Hello ladies and gentlemen of Catholic Answers. A very dear friend, one who I love very dearly, has been going through just an awful time recently, and has hardly spoken with anyone about it. Firstly, he is in the midst of depression after his relationship ended. His friends have been very obnoxious recently, some just being plain cruel to him. He is having trouble at school. And he has been stricken with severe influenza.

Prayers for his body and mind are most appreciated, but I would also request that you pray for his conversion to the Catholic Church. He is still developing his spirituality, and attends Mass with me, so I have hope that Christ can bring him to the Church with the help of your prayers.
 
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, filled with infinite Love, broken by our ingratitude and pierced by our sins; yet loving us still; accept the consecration we make to Thee of all that we are and all that we have.

Take every faculty of our souls and bodies, only day by day draw us nearer and nearer to Thy Sacred Heart; and there as we shall hear the lesson, teach us Thy Holy Way. Amen.

Prayer to St. Luke:

Most charming and saintly Physician, you were animated by the heavenly Spirit of love. In faithfully detailing the humanity of Jesus, you also showed His divinity and His genuine compassion for all human beings. Inspire our physicians with your professionalism and with the divine compassion for their patients. Enable them to cure the ills of both body and spirit that afflict so many in our day.

Sorry to hear your friend is going through such difficult times. I will pray that God will
provide a way to lessen his burdens. I hope he will get treated for his depression, his friendship situation improves as well as his school situation. May God heal him physically and mentally.

May God open his heart to conversion to the Catholic Church.

For Those Who Suffer with Emotional Illness

Lord Jesus, Your healing extends to the depths of our mysterious being. Remember the sufferings of those who are afflicted with emotional disorders. Help them to understand themselves, help others to understand them. In their agony of fear or anger, sadness or despair, confusion, withdrawal, loneliness, or loss of self-esteem, may they find the grace to trust You, to let You love them through the ministry of friends, and to appreciate the beauty and the value of their persons. Free them, lead them to peace, bless them with truth and reality. Amen.

Prayer for Physical Healing

Lord, I come before you trusting in your mercy and love.
I come before you with faith in your promise that you shall
grant whatever we ask for in prayer if it will be what is best for our souls.
Lord, I ask you to heal Water of Life’s friend of his flu.
Touch him now in the areas of his body that need most of your healing love.
Let the warmth of your healing love penetrate every cell,
every nerve and tissue in his sick body.
Replace these sick cells with new and healthy cells.
Cast out anything that should not be in him.
Cleanse all infections, remove all inflammations,
open any blocked arteries and veins and rebuild all damaged areas.
Strengthen his body, his mind, emotions and spirit and with that
same power by which you created him, heal him and recreate him, Lord.
Restore him to full health in body, mind, emotions and spirit.
Give him the grace to accept this pain and suffering with patient resignation
to your most Holy will and plan for his life.
Have mercy on him and forgive him of his sins.
Let him find peace amidst her suffering and offer it for the salvation of souls.
With eyes of faith, let him see the blessings out of this physical sickness.
And after he has been healed, may he be a witness of your healing
love and power and serve you for the rest of his life.

Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal (Circle of life’s friend). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into Circle of life’s friend body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Thank you everyone! He is getting better, the combined prayers of the Discalced Carmelite nuns of Australia, my parish, and all of you has wrought a great amount of healing for him. However, he still has some kidney problems. A prayer to Saint Benedict on his behalf would be very much appreciated.
