Some of you who have been members here for a few years may remember that I became friends with someone on Facebook who ran a Melanoma prayer request page. I sought out support when my mom was diagnosed in 2012. Carol is a Methodist minister, and when she and I first became acquainted she was stage 3b, but had been NED (no evidence of disease) for over 5 years.

About a year or so ago, so found out that the melanoma had returned and had spread to her bones and brain. Her treatment was partially successful, but she took a turn for the worse, her doctors said that there was nothing else that could be done, and her family thought the end was near.

For the last couple of months, the most amazing things have happened! Although she’s no longer having treatment, Carol has been able to begin talking, walking, and writing on her blog again. And this weekend, she preached again!

Since she’s not having treatment, she doesn’t know what’s going on with the disease. But the things that have happened to her are just miraculous!

I wanted to share this with everyone as many of you have prayed for her!

** Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection,
implored your help or sought your intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother;
to you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful.

O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in your mercy hear and answer me.

Amen.

Prayers to St. Peregrine for her continued health & recovery.

Thank you so much for the update!~ It’s always good to hear how things are going after a prayer request. May God continue to heal this woman to a recovery.

Mary.

This is wonderful to hear. My husband’s mother died of melanoma in 1993 after a horrible 4 year struggle, which was very painful to watch. At that time there was no treatment, except surgeries, which in the end accomplished nothing. Now they are developing some treatments for it, some of which appear to have some success.

I am very happy to hear of your friend’s apparent recovery and pray it continues. Praise god.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal (Carol). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into Carol’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Prayer to St. Anthony for Those With Cancer

Dear St. Anthony, you recognized Our Lord Jesus as the Divine Healer. In your goodness and kindness, please intercede for Carol, who is suffering from cancer. If it is God’s will, may the gift of healing be granted to him. Comfort him during times of unbearable pain, and ask our Lord to grant him peace and patience in suffering. May God give him the fullness of life here on earth. Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.

I’m so sorry. I lost my mom to it in 2012. You are so right. For the longest time, there was only Interferon, which is grueling and I’m not convinced it does/did much good. The last few years have brought about remarkable progress in terms of treatments (Yervoy, IL-2, Zelboraf, etc…) , but still no cure.

Thank you all for your continued prayers for Carol!
