I know I had asked a question just like this before. About 1 1/2 -2 years ago I wasnt a good catholic, but now I am a much better catholic. At this time me and my friend watched some stupid immoral movie, whick now I regret, but there was a joke from the movie that my friend will say sometimes. When he says it, it will make me laugh alot. The joke isnt immoral except it includes the use of drugs. Is it sinful to laugh at this? Everything from my past has some how come back to haunt me in some way and this is one of the ways. Just to let you know I am a person suffering from bad scruples and am worried about this. Thanks for the advice.
 
You’re fine. There are much bigger issues in the world, and it sounds like you might have a form of OCD.
 
What about if there was a imoral movie with a good non immoral joke in it. Is it wrong to laugh at that joke if someone says it?
 
If laughing at inappropriate comments is a sin, I’m in big trouble! My first reaction to someone saying or doing something inappropriate is to laugh out of embarrasement! I often have to follow it up with “that’s not funny, that’s awful!” and explain that the laugh was out of embarrasement.
