Friends who are involved with breast cancer groups

alright so sometimes I run into this problem with some of my friends.

they either know someone with cancer or have lost someone close to them to cancer

and in effort to save the lives of that person or someone who may have a simular cancer, which their loved one died of.

but the big issue is that the group they chose to join with is a group that is proven to send their money to embryonic stem cell research and some maybe to Planned parenthood.

Many of these groups have 5k for the cure or walk for the cure (you get the point) and you have to pay to go on these things and all the money goes to the group who supports these immoral practices

now here is my ethical dilemma I really want to support my friend becuase I love them and I want to help them in their cause, but I don’t want to support a group who pays for the killing of unborn children (embryonic stem cell research does involve that)

so in this situation what would you do how would you handle it?

also is it a good idea to let the people know that the group supports this or is it good to keep it on the down low?

I struggle with this same thing, specifically Susan G Komen fundraisers. It’s very difficult to know which charities are worthy of our money, esp. when we try to find out whether a charity is donating to Planned Parenthood or the like.

I personally think that donating to these organizations is for the greater good. PP helps women without health insurance to get proper breast exams so it makes sense that they get some money from these charities.

Its not like people are getting more abortions because you are donating money to breast cancer, right? Can we agree on that?

yes your right about abortions but i think thats a different case for embryonic stem cell research the less money they have the less they do that research

but i still think you should avoid sending donations to groups who support planned parent hood the more money they have the more power they have in washington and I personally don’t want money that i sacrifised to go to a immoral practice like abortion it would seem like my donation would mean nothing in the eyes of the lord becuase of where it went. Now maybe it wouldn’t i guess it just depends but if you know your donation goes to an unethical practice but you do it anyway i think God may not approve to well But i don’t really know

I just looked into embryonic stem cell research and I must say that is horrible. Harvesting children to kill them doesn’t seem right.
