Friend's Wife in Temple of Set

I have a co-worker / casual friend who’s wife has fallen away from Catholicism and into a cult called the Temple of Set. You can do a web search to find out about it, but a top hit seems to be a site called xeper.org. Any ideas on where to start combating this? Thanks.

How in the world did this gal get involved in a satanic cult?

I’d advise praying the Rosary and invoking the aid of St. Michael–that and a good psychiatrist. :hypno:

In addition to that, there is a very real risk of demonic oppression or possession. Consult with a faithful and experienced priest.
 
It looks like a slightly more mature variant of LaVeyan Satanism.

But only slightly. ‘Order of the Vampyre’ :rotfl: :rotfl:

Anyway, it’s not actual devil worship! Like LaVey’s Church of Satan, it promotes the self as deity – unlike the CoS, it’s not all Objectivist about it.
 
The website is openly Satanic. They say that Set is the Egyptian name for Satan.
True, many satanists don’t worship a being named satan, but the real Satan dosn’t care. It’s still out and out satanism.
 
:eek: I can’t help but wonder how this co-worker’s wife got involved in this mess of satan…to go from Catholicism to this, makes no sense…she has some outside influence, someone had to have introduced her to this…I would figure out THAT person and start praying for protection from THAT persons influence.

I would be worried about Possession to be honest, this is serious. Your friend co-worker needs sacrementals around for a little help, he needs to speak to his priest as well.

I wish I could tell you. I don’t know enough about the situation, but the couple are talking divorce now. That’s not surprising, but adds even more difficulty to the situation.

How does one locate an experienced priest? I know plenty who are faithful, but don’t know many who might fit this requirment / suggestion. This co-worker actually works at another location about 175 miles away from me, so it’s not like I see him often. But I am concerned about (1) the wife’s soul, (2) the 13 year old living at home, and (3) the family unit as a whole. It’s a mess.

I have thought the same things as you about how she got involved in this. Also, I have suggested that he speak with his priest. Thanks.

Not surprising as the Temple of Set is an offshoot of the Church of Satan of LaVey; or rather a break-away movement, since I think early on Anton LaVey and the Temple of Set’s founder, Michael Aquino, had a falling out.
 
Just an update in the event anyone had been following this thread, but my co-worker / friend and his wife are seeking a divorce due to this issue. Your prayers are appreciated.

Aquino is aparently into collecting Nazi memorabilia and the CofS is into Holocaust denial as well
 
Ahhhh…I just saw the upside down pentacle on this site and exited out immediately!!!
 
I am going to pray for St. Michael to help your co-worker and his daughter in this situation.
