Friends

Please say a prayer for two good friends. Last night one told me something very deep and personal and I honestly do not know how to respond…it kept me up for a while last night; it required Confession on the person’s part, but I have never seen this side of my friend. It seems like despair for this particular person, and the other individual is also in a VERY deep despair as far as I have been told and can understand from my own perception (not to judge, but this person just seems a bit lost). Please excuse my ambiguity, but I was totally taken by surprise after a long discussion last night with my friend. None of this involves myself.

Please pray for God’s intervention in their lives… I want to ask for God to give me the strength to help and guide them, since it is interesting that I was the first (possibly second) person to hear this entire story/issue. I fear that would be taking over God’s will and second that despair is something which you must figure out in your relationship with God. An additional issue is that one of the individuals is not really religious in any respect, and is doubting God. God please help that person in their search for You and Truth in life.

I have never posted a prayer request, and again please excuse the ambiguity, but please just say a prayer.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day, our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver from evil. Amen.

I think we would be very surprised by the real and secret stories of many people we know in passing and many whom we think we know well. We usually don’t trust others enough with our true selves and our full stories, because deep down we don’t honestly believe they really love us, or would continue to love us if they knew the truth of ourselves as we know it.

Obviously your friend does recognize in you a genuine goodness and love, so I praise God for that, and that because you were trusted you are able to ask, and have the generosity to ask others to pray for your friend and the other person.
