I am fortunate to know Fr. Matt a little. He is a Marquette grad. Last year he was the celebrant for the funeral mass of the mother of one of my best friends (he is a close friend of a younger brother). Among their other college friends was Chris Farley of SNL fame. In fact the character of “Matt Foley, motivational speaker” was based on Fr. Matt (who was not yet a priest).
