An “Orthodox perspective” that you yourself can voice because you are Orthodox? I don’t know what to think about a topic that is simultaneously accusatory and devoid of any evidence to back up such a charge.
There’s no way anyone can win here, I’m afraid. Some Catholic members have also insisted that we are too “soft” towards the Orthodox for a group of (mostly) Catholic people. I personally don’t care either way, but I do find it funny in light of the “Orthodox bashing” that you claim goes on.
Interesting article, anyway. I definitely agree with the author’s negative view towards “progressive understanding” of theology, whether or not this is actually an accurate assessment of official Catholic teaching or not (I’ve never been able to get a straight yes/no answer out of any priest I’ve asked about this; perhaps I am not phrasing my question clearly). Whatever happened to “lex orandi, lex credendi”? I guess that’s not so dependable if what you believe is expected to change in some sort of progression from one age to the next. I understand that Christ is the same today as He was in the past. I don’t understand what needs to be “updated”, then. Oh well. I’m a bad Catholic. Moving on…
Bring evidence of “Orthodox bashing”, please.
