Difficult to pretend to be a Christian party over 50% of your funding comes from Jewish donors.

Democrats tried Liberation Theology in the 1970s. That was when the party was more diverse. Protestants and Catholics were very influential. But, even so, the attempt failed.
Marxism and Christianity don’t mix.

Today you have George Soros, Haim Saban, Fred Eychaner, Steven Bing, Steve Grossman, Melvin Simon, Bernard Schwartz the Sandlers, the Pritzers etc directing and funding the Party.

No Christian who follows this is going to support a party run by those who fund the endless lawsuits which attempt to (and have) driven the Christian faith from the public sqaure, who fund the abortion lobby and who fund the gay agenda.

HOUSES OF WORSHIP

From Gospel to Government
The Angry Left finds religion, and the result isn’t pretty.

“They’re the furious faithful–the growing number of religious liberals incensed by the political influence of Christian conservatives”

My response: The author immediately discredits himself and denigrates the name of Joseph by using the word “faithful” in the same sentence and conjunction of “furious” and “religious liberals incensed by the political influence of Christian conservatives”. So what is he saying? That REAL Christians have a point and we are taking a stand? The true author here is not a man named “Joseph” but the very same as the one from the original Garden. This sentence is so ridiculous and conflicting so as to be laughable. Do people actually take this guy seriously?

Moving on…

“As far as Patrick Mrotek, founder of the Christian Alliance for Progress, is concerned, the gloves are off: “We can no longer stand by,” he announced at a Washington press conference, “and watch people speak hatred, division, war and greed in the name of our faith.””

Ok, that’s interesting…obvioulsy Patrick (another name degraded in this sorry human in need of prayers)…he doesnt’ want to stand by and watch the words of Jesus Christ continue to be fulfilled…, ie: “I come to cause division…whoever does not leave his father, his mother, his wife…to cling to me is not worthy…” (Sorry, don’t have scripture in front of me so very butchered/paraphrased). REAL Christians do not speak hatred, but the liberals would define any disagreement with their adjenda as so. What a bunch of puss-filled intolerants. We should pray for them every moment.

“With a membership of perhaps 6,000, the Christian Alliance for Progress qualifies as the organizational equivalent of a megachurch–but not much more. Nevertheless, its policy goals are ambitious, ranging from debt forgiveness to universal health care. It proffers an agenda “founded firmly on the teachings of the Gospel.” Some students of the Gospel may be surprised at how neatly such an agenda fits the Democratic Party platform: The alliance supports stem-cell research, gay marriage and abortion; it opposes the Bush tax cuts, plans to privatize Social Security and the war in Iraq.”

How EXACTLY does this agenda align with the Gospel? They stand for everything AGAINST the Gospel! With a membership of only 6,000, we the TRUE faithful (of all Christianity) should be able to call our Blessd Mother’s heel upon this particular serpent in very short order.

I had to stop there. This is too stupid to be refuted because he refutes himself from the first line.

Do you have a source for this statistic?

stumbler…JTA.org, The Forward and the Jerusalem Post have written on the subject. Sorry I can’t give you a link. Its cause of concern among Democrats. 20 years ago, while Jewish support was an important part of the Democratic Party, it was not critical. Today, without that support, the party would be a regional not a national force.

Have you read Bryon York’s book “The Vast Left Wing” conspiracy? The top donors to Kerry in 2004:

George Soros ---------------------- $27,080,105
Peter Lewis ------------------------ $23,997,220
Stephen Bing ---------------------- $13,952,682
Herbert and Marion Sandler ----- $13,007,959
TOTAL ----------------------------- $78,037,966

That is over 3 times the amount donated by the top 5 Republican donors. The 2002 election cycle was the last in which individuals could give unlimited soft money directly to the national parties. Top 2002 DNC donors:

Haim Saban: $12.3 million
Fred Eychaner:$7.4 million
Steven Bing: $7.1 million
Steve Kirsch: $3.3 million
Bernard Schwartz:$2.3 million
Jon Corzine: $2.1 million
Melvin Simon:$2 million
Peter Angelos: $1.8 million
John O’Quinn: $1.8 million
Daniel Abraham: $1.4 million
Charles Kuscher:$1.4 million
Carl Lindner:$1.3 million
Donald Sussman:$1.2 million
Robert Johnson:$1.1 million

Republicans have no one who compares to the top DNC donors. Not individuals, not entire corporations. As you can see, the DNC donors are not very diverse in background.

Steve Grossman, former president of AIPAC and former chairman of the DNC, was critical to Howard Dean’s primary campaign. He could not have run without Grossman’s support. AIPAC’s direct mail marketing operation–the AB list–in the most powerful fundraising tool in America. It’s primary purpose is to support Israel and Jewish causes but it is leased to liberal politicians as well (it is NOT available to conservative candidates).

Last spring, 70 million and billionaires met in Arizona to plan a comeback for the Democratic Party. Soros organzied the meeting. Who the others were is a secret some people are trying to uncover.

Financial support is only part of it. The Sulzberg family gave the Kerry campaign almost priceless media cover from over 45 front page articles on Abu Ghraib, to ignoring the swift boat vets, to endless diatribes against Bush by Maureen Dowd, Paul Krugman, Frank Rich and others. And then there is Hollywood. Again, not a very diverse group who run that place and support liberal causes.

I write this not to be critical of a group. I want everyone to participate. There is no conspiracy here. This is the same as the NRA, the Christian Coalition or Beer Wholesalers of America (an important GOP donor) giving to the Republicans. However, it does show how parochial the Democratic Party has become and why it has so much trouble relating to the heartland.
