I’m wondering whether anyone could explain or provide a link to a site that explains the definition of each fruit of the Holy Spirit. They seem pretty self explanatory but I’m looking for something a little more definitive and Catholic than using a dictionary or my own words.

Thanks and God bless!

Don’t have a site…but this is “the” classic book…by Archbishop Martinez (Mexico City)
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51TSK50SDTL.SL500_AA300.jpg

I read (devoured) this book like a mystery novel…except this Mystery…The Holy Spirit is Truth…I was mesmerized by the Archbishop’s intimate knowledge…coming from deep personal spiritual experience…with the Holy Spirit. God the Father and God the Son…present images we can recognize…the loving but disciplining Father…the obedient grateful Son…but the Holy Spirit…I came to see and believe…(just for my understanding…not usurping the Church"s doctrine/theology)…that the Holy Spirit likes operating “undercover”:…a Dove?..the Wind?..I think He is really more of a 'Rambo-Michael Corleone" in a “Doves” disguise…I mean…the Father and Son must have to hold The Spirit back every moment…or the Battle with the Devil and Evil would have been over the moment of Pentecost (in time and history…for its already over in eternity)…I mean…in Tennis scoring terms…the Holy Spirit is yelling to us…“point…game…set…match… championship to Christ, His Church and disciples!” A clue: look what happened to the slow…thick headed…prideful and cowardly apostles…after the Holy Spirit got hold of them…in the Upper Room…think about it…its incredible what the Holy Spirit unleashed on the World and Mankind (all through the merits of Christ’s Paschal Mystery)…and only one thing “fuels” the Holy Spirit’s power…Love! (whoever thinks Christian love --agape-- is soft and sentimental…needs to take a hard look at what the Holy Spirit does to disciples of Christ…its found explicitly in the lives of the Saints…and the Holy Spirit has only two “circuit stops” for Christians…Calvary an Heaven…and wherever the Blessed Virgin Mary is…or is working…in persons/events…Holy Spirit races to be at her side to assist her…his spouse…that is why Fatima Seer Venerable Sister Lucia (2005+) said --paraphrasing-- that there is nothing…and I mean nothing…that can’t be solved or fixed by praying the Rosary).

Book Description (Costs @ $10.00)
Publication Date: March 1, 2003
In** The Sanctifier, one of the most fascinating books on the Holy Spirit ever written, Archbishop Martinez reveals the secret of holiness. Step by step, he guides us to understand the gentle ways in which the Spirit acts in our lives. The author explains how the Spirit is present to us and leads us to the Father and the Son, especially through the virtues of faith, hope, and charity. He then focuses on the seven gifts, which make us attentive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Along with the gifts, we discover the consoling fruits of the Spirit, such as joy, peace, and patience. Finally, Martinez crowns his work with a masterful explanation of the beatitudes, the summit of the Christian life**. Author: Archbishop Luis M. Martinez Publisher:** Pauline Books** amp Media Format: Paperback, 368 pages ISBN: 9780819874122[note: I have never been pleased with Pauline book bindings…this one came apart in front section…a clumps of pages…to be fair… carried it everywhere and laid it it out to make notes/underline stuff…still think it should have held up better]. ** I would say that this reprint and translation…is complete and unabridged with excellent explanatory notes where time/culture/history may be confusing…rare but very helpful.**]

Still recommend you consider buying/reading…it will be worth it…I promise. Hope this is helpful…in someway.

Re: Archbishop Martinez–(1881-1956+)–

Mexico City, Mexico, Apr 25, 2011 / 02:06 pm (CNA).- Cardinal Norberto Rivera Carrera announced that the remains of the Servant of God Luis Maria Martinez will be exhumed as part of the late archbishop’s cause for canonization.

Cardinal Rivera issued a decree explaining that Archbishop Martinez’s cause for canonization is currently before Vatican officials, reported the Archdiocese of Mexico City’s news service. The cardinal noted that the officials are “analyzing his documented biography and the scientific investigation into his Christian virtues which he lived to a heroic degree.”

**“Those who knew this great pastor and his work, the Servant of God Luis Maria Martinez, first auxiliary bishop of Morelia and later archbishop of Mexico City, fervently desire he be raised to the altars,” **the cardinal said.
