Fruits of the rosary question

Are we suppose to pray about the fruits of the rosary or can we pray about the mysteries our own way. Like for instance if I prayed the first part of the rosary of the joyful mysteries can I just focus on how Mary could of felt when the Angel approached her and told her she was gonna give birth to our Lord. Is this an acceptable way to pray the rosary? Like focusing on the it and see how they felt or how the story could reflect towards us in our own lives? I want to to do this with each part of the mystery. Its easier for me to pray this way.

As long as you are meditating while praying, and not just reciting Hail Marys, then do whatever works best for you. I like reading a line of scripture relating to the mystery on each bead, trying to picture it in my head. I have tried meditating on pictures, but only with limited success. Different strokes for different folks. Sometimes I wish there were more mysteries. Like a different one for each day of the week. Good luck. The important thing is to stick with it.
