Hi folks,
Just like to ask for prayers for
my idea of “a Church for the Poor”
it is being frustrated in that the
parish priest seems to see things in
a different light, he told me that the
church is ALREADY doing a lot for
the Poor and seems unresponsive to
my pleas for a greater appreciation of
the Poor and their being the TREASURE
of the Church. That he will be willing to
  1. Hold a monthly mass for the intention
    of the poor.
  2. Incorporate messages of encourage-
ment and moral support for the poor.
  3. Get people to be concerned for the
plight of the poor and not ignore/be
    indifferent to them.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

†

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

†

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

As you are not asking for prayers and just feel the need to vent, I would say your priest is doing more than a lot of priest. I know the feeling of frustration because I wanted to set up another food pantry for the poor, the retarded and disabled around the corner in the public housing building. I know that theses residents have no way of getting to the Salvation Arm or to the Saint Vincent De Paul store, therefor are cut off from reg. charities. I broached my idea/intent to Father and was told that the church did not want to “duplicate” such sevices. So, you see, we all get frustrated at times. Sometimes we just have to swallow it. At the same time I know the Church does more for the poor of the world than any other charity/foundation or benefits. So be at peace.

Please excuse me if I come across as
venting, I would gladly accept prayers
for my intentions, I believe in the power
of prayer!!

I pray for my parish priest, that
he take OWNERSHIP of the
vision of “a Church for the Poor”,
and that he may COOPERATE
w/ God in ushering in the Kingdom
of Christ by paying attention to
what I have to say about the need
of the Church for the Poor.

Our Father, who is in heaven,
Your name be held holy,
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses as
we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

A Parish Prayer

Lord God, we come to you.
We come with our hopes and our dreams,
our fears and our failures, our faith and our doubts,
our troubles and our triumphs.
We ask you to walk with us throughout our days,
giving us faith when we waver,
hope when we despair, love when we need it most.
Heal us in our brokenness, love us in our shortcomings,
encourage us in our misgivings, empower us with your Spirit.
Renew us in your life, love and peace
so we can renew others through
Christ, Our Lord, Amen

I have this idea of taking a Lifestyle
Survey at the local soup kitchen,
the priest told me to get St. Vincent
de Paul society to back me so that
I can have more of a chance to get
approved, I DID’NT get their help,
but I DID get help from an ecumen-
ical evangelical group to use their
name for the Survey, and I got the
Okay from the Soup Kitchen to do
it!!!

Our Father, who is in heaven,
Your name be held holy,
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass
against us. And lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Dear Lord please help us to see things Your way, with regard to all people,
without judgement or frustration regarding anyone who sees differently,
but all doing the best we can manage due to our nature and circumstances, to worship You, and doing the best each of us can manage to help others.
Guide and help us all as we try to help others where we can, and to inspire others, where we can do so in charity and respect of individual ability and perceptions.

Thank you Lord for the OPPORTUNITY
to work for the Poor using the Lifestyle
Survey, may the OPPOSITION I’m
facing be dealt with!

Our Father, who is in heaven,
Your name be held holy,
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,

we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Jesus is our High Parish Priest and God’s word will not fail to be fulfilled even if not exactly as we have mapped out.

Ez 12:20-28

Our Father Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name,
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.

Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

Thanx Vic for the Scripture reference,
indeed Just as He has said, may the
Lord’s will be fulfilled NOW.

Give us this day our daily bread,

St. Thérèse of Liseux Prayer From “Story of A Soul”

May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received,
and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into your bones,
and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise, and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.

Amen. †

Lord, thank you that you are with me right now.
Your love surpasses all fear.
I give you the anxiety I feel.
I surrender all my worries to you.
Clear my mind;
Calm my heart;
Still my Spirit;
Relax my being, that, I may
always glorify you in everything
I write, speak and do.

Amen. †

Jesus, Help Me

In every need let me come to Thee with humble trust, saying,
Jesus, help me!

In all my doubts, perplexities, and temptations,
Jesus, help me!

In hours of loneliness, weariness and trials,
Jesus, help me!

In the failure of my plans and hopes; in disappointments, troubles and sorrows,
Jesus, help me!

When my heart is cast down by failure, at seeing no good come from my efforts,
Jesus, help me!

When others fail me, and Thy grace alone can assist me,
Jesus, help me!

When I throw myself on Thy tender love as Father and Savior,
Jesus, help me!

When I feel impatient, and my cross irritates me,
Jesus, help me!

When sickness and loneliness overcome me,
Jesus, help me!

Always, in weakness, falls and shortcomings of every kind,
Jesus, help me and never forsake me.

Thank You, dear Lord Jesus.

Amen. †

Sweet Heart of Jesus, be my love.
Sweet Heart of my Jesus, grant that I may always love You more.
Heart of Jesus, burning with love for us, set our hearts on fire with love of You.
Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make our hearts like Your Heart.

Amen. †

Prayers said. All will be well. Do not fear, the Lord is protecting you.
Do not be lonely, your guardian angel is beside you.
Be comforted, Mother will watch over you, and the
Holy Spirit will guide you.

Thank You, dear Lord Jesus.

Amen. †

:signofcross: :blessyou:

Thanx for ALL your prayers and
may the Lord bless you, the Father,
the Son and the Holy Spirit, One
God, now and forever. Amen.

Our Father, who is in heaven,
Your Name be held holy,
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses as
we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.
