I have to move an organ into the house and I am going to the organ store tomorrow and they are looking for help, maybe they could hire me (organ repair and piano moving) and they are really nice. If I am surrounded in that atmosphere I think maybe I could get there. I am going in the morning to pick up organ dollies
My point of view is this. When I was a child I we were so broke. and could never take piano lessons. I got involved with the banjo, and that is a fun instrument, and not an easy one. I mastered it and studied voice. The banjo is not a liturgical instrument and the organ is I am begging God to help me where I can not do it myself. Not looking for easy, but I am begging him for a break, and no I don’t think the Holy Scripture is a farse. but a lot of “realists Catholics” will state something like “well God didn’t really mean a mountain and you know, it is a figure of speech and you couldn’t ever move a mountain, I would love to see that happen.” or something along those lines. I was so frustrated that I felt it was a farse. I honestly believe in that scripture. Just I keep proclaiming Christ’s name above the mountains in my life and I was just frustrated . it is frustrating and disheartening at times .

You are still right back where younstarted from.

Go to the library and get some books out on playing the piano. Work on it yourself, practicing for a good time each day–like twice as along as you practiced the banjo.

Call every piano teacher you can find. Tell them you want to learn but have no money. Ask them if they will exchange work for lessons until you find a job that covers piano lessons.

Find a job or two that cover(s) your expenses and piano lessons. At minimum wage, probably 4 or 5 hours a week would cover 1-hour lessons (at the going rate where I live).

Or contact universities and community colleges and get a job there. A lot of times one of the perks of employment is free tuition–you many be able to take classes as a perk of your job. Also, you may be able to find a student who will trade piano lessons for banjo lessons, bit you’d need to be very organized.

I will keep praying in the capacity of Mark 11;23 and as they say expect a miracle. I will have to do it myself with videos and offering up what I can . This longing is purgation and the unfulfilled dreams are pure HELL and I wouldn’t wish this awful situation on my worse enemy. It has been a longing for a real long time. and if God won’t help me why did he put in the Holy Bible Mark 11;23 and other scriptures. I proclaim the name of Jesus the Christ against whatever MOUNTAIN that is in my way to be thrown INTO the sea!!! Either we believe in the bible or not, We, being anyone that proclaims Jesus Christ King of the Universe, as Lord and Savior. He starts that scripture with Amen I say to you, just like in John 6. When Jesus says “Amen I say to you.” I expect what he says and I need him now. I am going to do what I can and work it (countless of hours of practice and all that, but I expect to make progress every day) I am 43 not 3 and I need help to make up for the time eroded away, So I need a miracle as I believe in miracles and the more people that do, the more of them would happen. I am going to do the foot work and do what I can. but I expect God to keep his promise. also delight in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. I take the Bible quite literally for it was inspired by The Holy Ghost. I beg the Holy Ghost to please quell my longing for it is too much. Please pray for me. If I woke up as a 4 year old, then yes the many years of practice and all that… bring it on. but I won’t wake up as a 4 year old So help me please dear Lord. AMEN.

It would be really cool if you got the job at the organ store. That could lead to some nice opportunities.

Don’t worry about your age. It wasn’t until I was middle-aged that I became an artist. I had no clue that I was an artist, although I had done some amateur photography just for fun. And the reason why I became an artist was because I needed a job, prayed, and asked for a normal full-time, permanent day job in my field, which is technology … the answer to the prayer was not what I expected. So if God wants you to play the organ or piano, it can happen … with a ton of effort on your part.

I hope you will also be open in case God wants you to use a different talent that you may not have really considered?

Praying for you …

I think you must first decide where you intend to perform your duties,: at the east end at the altar, or at the west end in the organ loft. Dare I say it, but you will go further faster under option one. I was 17 when I began learning the organ. I started playing in church at 25, and did my first organ recital five years later, so there is still time for you but you must start putting in the work NOW before it is too late. I believe you have the initial enthusiasm, but it remains to be seem if it will get you past ‘the wall’. This is an obstacle all learners have to overcome: it sorts out the men from the boys, the musicians from the dabblers, the, erm, wheat from the chaff. The organ’s ‘wall’ is the co-ordination and independence of hands and feet. To achieve this, you will have to read three lines of music at once, two of which are usually in a different clef to the other. Some people never achieve this and stick to the manuals (keyboards).

The one thing I have learned is that in order to play the pipe organ a person must be strong-willed. Because of its complexity and sheer power it has the potential to trip you up and make you look (sound) incredibly stupid, so you have to practice regularly to stay on top of your game. And, of course, the King of Instruments also demands that its servants remove their footwear and put on special shoes in due deference!

Best wishes for whatever you decide to do.

fortunately I ride dressage and to do a piaffe you need to have your brain think diagonally. half halt left rein drive right leg then half halt right rein and drive with the left. I am also a banjo player and so with that and the dressage I am going to bulldoze that wall I am going to blast it with dynamite. I am expect God to hold his promise in Mark 11;23. I won’t take no for an answer. The pedals don’t scare me at all infact that is why the organ attracts me is that pedal division. Anyway I am used to using all my limbs and diagonally which is difficult at first. But pray for me and There is too much garbage and too much machine in the way of priesthood. we have a huge shortage in the diocese I live in and we need priests in the parishes not holed up in a seminary for years and years on end. I will have a much easier time with the organ as it is a solitude endeavor (no teachers where I live) and I don’t have deal with a bunch of formation and needless education having NOTHNG to do with God living with a bunch of babies getting annoyed over the silliest things and living in community is NOT my thing. and living in community don’t reflect life as a parish priest… I will play and I will expect God to do what I can’t I know musical theory and have played an instrument for 30 years that better well have some bearing on my organ playing. I am expecting a miracle. God bless and thank you all.

Why dont you better pray that He gives you the wisedom to realise what He wants from you, and to accept it (also for courage for this).

“Pray as if it all rests on God, and act as if it all depends on you.”

Pope Francis in his APOSTOLIC EXHORTATION
EVANGELII GAUDIUM released this weeky begins with these words:

The great danger in today’s world, pervaded as it is by consumerism, is the desolation and anguish born of a complacent yet covetous heart, the feverish pursuit of frivolous pleasures, and a blunted conscience. Whenever our interior life becomes caught up in its own interests and concerns, there is no longer room for others, no place for the poor. God’s voice is no longer heard, the quiet joy of his love is no longer felt, and the desire to do good fades. This is a very real danger for believers too. Many fall prey to it, and end up resentful, angry and listless. That is no way to live a dignified and fulfilled life; it is not God’s will for us, nor is it the life in the Spirit which has its source in the heart of the risen Christ.

I invite all Christians, everywhere, at this very moment, to a renewed personal encounter with Jesus Christ, or at least an openness to letting him encounter them; I ask all of you to do this unfailingly each day. No one should think that this invitation is not meant for him or her, since “no one is excluded from the joy brought by the Lord”. . .

I can’t help but feel that you are putting God to the test. Job and other biblical figures were mad at God. Being mad at God seems somewhat better then being indifferent. But as you know, the thing you want MOST in this life is God himself above and beyond any skills or talents or fame. If you loose a relationship with God in your pursuit to gain certain skills then you have traded a lesser thing for a greater thing.

Anger is one thing but cling to God during these moments. Don’t put him to the test. He will give you and has given you the thing you desire most in your heart - which is he himself. Continue to ask God to bless you in this manner but ask yourself if your attitude during your prayer time is bringing you closer to God or putting you farther away.
