It was only in the last year or so that I became aware of the FSSP, thanks to online friends who are fortunate enough to live near their apostolates. Unfortunately, I live nowhere near any of their Mass/apostolate locations. Does anyone have knowledge of the FSSP’s future plans to expand into U.S. states where they’re not currently located?

The FSSP’s biggest problem is providing enough priests for their many invitations. Time and patience and prayer…

I know that they make special visits to celebrate the Nuptiual Mass for couple getting married.

St. Michael the Archangel in Scranton, PA has FSSP Masses and community that I know of for sure. In Canada, they’re centered in Ottawa, I believe.

There are Una Voce groups popping up all over, sometimes where FSSP priests used to offer Masses before they were moved around. St. Stanislaus Church in Rochester, NY has weekly Latin Mass and a very large community.

Thanks, St. Monica! I know St. Stanislaus, too! 🙂

There is one in my diocese though i live too far away from it. But are bishop just visited it a few months ago.

There is a fulltime FSSP parish in Dayton, OH. Holy Family church off of 5th and Findlay.

Keep in mind that the FSSP doesn’t just plan to move into an area. They must be invited in by the diocesan Bishop. I’m sure Fr. Berg has commitments for the next several ordinations. Perhaps petition your Bishop to invite them in. You may hit it lucky. 😃

We have an FSSP priest in residence. He is the chaplain at the two local hospitals and he says two weekday Masses and one Sunday Mass at our parish.

As far as the EF, our diocese is well covered. The Oratorian Fathers run a parish on this end of the diocese (that parish has an EF and a Latin OF as a part of its liturgical offerings). A retired OMI offers a weekly EF on the other end.

There are other options available also such as the Fathers of the Oratory of St. Phillip Neri. They might not be pure EF order, but they are known for the beauty of their liturgies (both EF and OF).

The three Masses – are they OF?

The latest I heard is that there will be 7 or 8 new priests ordained next year from the FSSP here in the states (and here in Omaha at our beautiful cathedral…woohoo!). I’m sure there will be some ordained overseas as well. I was talking with a FSSP priest this past weekend, and he said now that they’ve been up and running for 25 years, they have a more solid foundation and should be “churning out” this many priests every year.

Considering that the entire archdiocese of New York had only one new priest ordained last year, the numbers that the Fraternity are putting out is astounding and very promising.

They just established a new Apostolate in Minneapolis, MN at All Saints Catholic Church.
