I find the Traditional Rite of Ordination extremely moving.

So the FSSP has permission to offer mass only in the EF, right?

The following is a summary of the Ordination Mass of two priests for the Institute of Christ the Sovereign Priest held in St. Louis, MO:

Do you know what the difference is between the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest, d the Institute of Christ the King and the FSSP?

They are just two different groups of priests who are dedicated to traditional doctrine, traditional sacraments, and traditional Mass.

In practice, the main differences are that the Institute of Christ the King puts more emphasis on liturgical splendor, has an associated women’s religious group, and some special items of clothing they wear.

There are other similar groups of priests as well - the Institute of the Good Shepherd in France, the Institute of St. Philip Neri in Germany, among others. The FSSP is the biggest and oldest regularized group.

100%. In fact, His Eminence Cardinal Burke often is the celebrant at their ordinations :).

How wonderful to see the new priests of the FSSP! May they have a long, holy priesthood!

With regard to ICRSS, I was thinking about this ordination this morning, and remembering how the ordinands pretty much missed the reception afterward…

In the meantime, the newly ordained stayed in the Cathedral bestowing their “First Blessing” for nearly two hours, a foretaste of their future life of total self-giving and mediation between God and man.
