What is the cost of seminary for a priest in the Fraternity of St. Peter?
I posted this in the “vocations” section because I believe you guys would know better then anyone.
And if one wanted to help support a seminarian how would one go about that?

In the memo line you could write something like “seminary scholarship” or “to support a seminarian w/out much support” or such.
I used to bank with an institution that had free online-bill pay. When I got paid, so did they. BELIEVE ME, it was not much at all (it shames me to admit I spent more on smokes than I did on supporting the semiarians!)… But if you consider the net effect of even ***100 people sending $7.00 every two weeks, that is $28K a year. ***That pays for four men to study, or gives 8 men half-scholarships…
***100 people sending $20 every two weeks on pay day is $52,000. ***
***1000 people sending $10 ***every two weeks on pay day (if you are paid bi-weekly) equals ***$260,000 - more than quarter of a million! *** After a decade, that adds up to $2,600,000.
$2.6M!
Everyone thinks that seminaries and religous orders and such have big benefactors… And surely many do. But it isn’t just the “big dogs” who bequeath millions who make this possible. Its all the “little guys” (and I am for the record THE dictionary picture of a “little donor”) who make it possible, day to day.
It seems like a very small amount, but if you do it and encourage your friends to do so, the value of those donations in the light of eternity can’t be measured. In heaven (if you can imagine it as a place with space and time…) priests will come up to you and say:
“Thank you, your donations made my studies possible. Thank you, I met a priest you supported, and became a priest myself. Thank you,** you helped to support the **priest that brought me to the faith… that baptized my children… that taught me the faith and helped my husband and I to understand the value of one more soul… that came to me in my final hour and heard my confession and gave me last rites…”
Of course the Fraternity also is looking for members to join the Acrhconfraternity of St. Peter and commit to praying one decade daily for the FSSP. First things first!
