The CCC mentions the “Senses of Sacred Scripture,” when discussing the interpretation of scripture. The CCC distinguishes Literal vs Spiritual, with spiritual being subdivided into allegorical, moral, and anagogical senses. Could anyone please distinguish these senses in the CCC to what is referred to in other scholarly texts as the “Fuller Sense,” the “Typical Sense,” and the “Accomodated Sense,” of interpreting Scripture, or are these similar terms to describe anagogical, moral, and allegorical?

Hi.

I think this PDF document by the USCCB is exactly what you need, in full.

How do you stop that irritating menu bar keeping popping onto the screen covering the text?
The link I provided is to the direct PDF file, so your computer’s PDF reader may be causing it. Or, your web browser’s PDF reading ability is buggy. Try right-clicking on the link to force it to save it to your computer so your computer’s PDF program only opens the file.
