Why are you trying to add things that are not in the bible. God did ordain His word it has proven itself 100% true. That is the proof of it’s authority.
Please show me where God said his word, the bible, as you know it today, handed down as Tradition for over 1,600 years, was 100% true. Please show me what you believe.

I will show you that you don’t understand Who is the Word of God who is 100% true.
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning.
3Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood[a] it.
6There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. 7He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe. 8He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. 9The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.**
10He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13children born not of natural descent,[c] nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
14The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only,[d] who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. **

The ACLU talks a lot of nice talk, but they ar just a bunch of hot air.
That’s odd. I seem to have posted a link to a story in which the ACLU defended the rights of Christians students to spread religious messages to other students in school. That sounds like more than “hot air” to me – that sounds like an organization doing things to support civil liberties for everyone, Christian and non-Christian alike.

In fact, there’s a website that has compiled a list of some of the cases where the ACLU has defended the rights of Christians: aclufightsforchristians.com/

But I guess this is all “hot air,” right?

What you’re illustrating for this thread is that old moral: never let a good dose of reality come between you and the fantasy land in your head.

It is called lip service. You are just naive.

Gee on another post I quoted Jn 1:1 Saying Jesus was the living incarnate Word of God and was told by a catholic the Church was the word. Looks like you can’t get your dogmas straight. Which is it?

I have a hard time believing this. Even if it were true, Catholics recognize that they are fallible. What a Catholic says and what the Church treaches are not one and the same.

Yes there is only one that is infallible and His name is God.

The Catholic Church can get Her dogma straight. If someone quoted the Church as being the Word, they should have been corrected, and I already see another Catholic has called you out on it. Can you please link us to the post which stated that?
(STILL, that is getting off track… “look over there, a birdie”)

You didn’t answer my question…🤷.

Can you answer my question to you in post #100?

The Church was granted infallibility by Jesus Christ.
What chapter and verse? The word infallible in association with any human entity is not in there. To equate fallible man with the infallible God is arrogant at the least.

The same God who has keept the OT pure for 3800 years is able to keep the the NT pure for the last 1900 years.

Yes. How? I want to know how do you know that God is able to preserve the Old and New Testaments? How do you know they have been kept pure? Who is keeping them from error? How do we know we have the right Scriptures?

It is not arrogant. We Catholics know that the infallibility of the Church is not on its own merits, but is only infallible by the grace of God. For God not to give his Church infallibility would seem incongruous to a loving and merciful God. The Holy Spirit inspired St. Paul to write that the Church is the pillar (support) and bulwark (defender) of Truth. (1 Tim 3:16). Could the Church accurately be called the defender of truth if she were just as susceptible to error as her individual members? Is the word “infallible” used? No. But there are a great many things all Christians believe that are not explicitly spelled out in the Scriptures (the Trinity being one, Sunday worship being another). And in the fourth Gospel, Jesus tells the Apostles that he would send the Spirit of Truth, who would guide the Church into all truth (16:13). Furthermore, Jesus gave St. Peter special authority by bestowing upon him the keys of the Kingdom (Mt. 16:19, cf Isa 22). This authority implies infallibility, as St. Peter was given the authority to speak for the Davidic King (Jesus) in his absence. As you see, the doctrine of infallibility is not simply something that was made up, but is firmly rooted in the Scriptures.

Hi grace
The Isaiah scroll from the dead sea is word for word what we have in our bibles today. The God who is able to create the universe, hold our breaths in His hand, and save us to glory is more than able to preserve His word. He is all powerful thats how we know.

Yet you reject the longer version of Daniel found at Quamran…

The Quamran version of Daniel includes the passages found in LXX, but have been truncated from Protestant Bibles
What chapter and verses are you referring to.
Could you tell me where they are in the LXX and cathoilic bible so I could look them up and compare ?
Thanks

First, there is no difference between Catholic Bibles and the LXX. The Vulgate was translated into Latin by St. Jerome. Just pick up any Catholic bible, turn to Daniel. If the passage was edited out by Luther, you will find it in the Septuagint.

Don’t you just have any chapter or verse numbers. I have to do it on line it would make it alot easier. Thanks
