I just pray that my daughter remains a Christian and marries a Christian, Catholic or Protestant (when she’s much older of course). As you can see I am rather new to this board. What has surprised me has been the number of protestants that are on the forum and who are here to tell me what i as a catholic believe, why i am wrong and to attempt to convert me. I have already been converted and it was the other way. I have no animosity to other christian groups, I like Joel Osteen who a lot of protestants criticize because he does not preach enough hell. My god is a loving god who focuses us on forgiving.
I am not interested in 1., converting to protestanism, 2., having my catholic faith become more protestant like. I dont feel ,well yes I do feel like they are nice enough people but I would not want my children marrying one. i would prefer my children marry catholics.
This board has some really good discussions. There seems to be some intelligent people with some good information. of course there a quite a few of the “defenders of the faith” who seem to prefer making accusations and demeaning remarks rather than have a civil discussion backed up by history and facts. Anyway, I like spending time here reading what other people have to say and I hope you will too. I think you will find out that there’s always someone trying to “convert” you to their way of thinking, even inside the RCC, i.e some Roman Catholics agree with Vatican II and some don’t. I try not to get too offended with the folks that are trying to convert me, because I do believe that, for the most part, they really believe what they are saying and in their mind they are trying to help me.
