I am going to have a Fundamentalism/Catholic dialauge with a gentleman. We are still working out the details (time, Topics, rules).
He is a mid-aged lapsed Catholic.
I would like some ideas on how I should set this up. Any ideas or suggestions?

P.S. I am going to be droping questions on how to answer some questions on things I know he is going to throw at me at one point or another (before, during, or after the talk).

Keep this famous quote in mind whether you decide to post it or not:
“There are not 100 people in the United States who hate the Catholic Church. There are millions, however, who hate what they wrongfully believe the Catholic Church to be.”
-Archbishop Fulton Sheen
Youll be amazed at how much he either misunderstands or was misinformed about the Catholic faith.

Don’t cave in when he tries to set scripture as the sole authority. Make him give evidence for such a thing, and don’t let him get away with taking it for granted.

Love your neighbour as yourself, even if he happens to disagree with you, and never forget that only God has all the answers.

Share; don’t argue.

If you haven’t already, I suggest reading David B. Currie’s Born Fundamentalist, Born Again Catholic.

I also suggest you have a rule that the two of you will stick to one topic at a time. It would probably be best to begin with the issue of authority.
