Fr. Scalia, by the way, is a treasure.
Fr. Scalia is indeed a treasure. All the more so because around 1996 he and at least two other orthodox priests were assigned to the diocese (Arlington) where I lived at the time–a time when the “Spirit of Vatican Two”, and other events not necessary to dredge up now, still festered.

The Diocese of Arlington was far from the worst, but the arrival of Fr. Scalia et al. was like an answer to my prayers. The Call To Action crowd scurried back to the shadows of the diocese, and having as a confessor the orthodox son of the best Supreme Court Justice of all time was akin to living in a golden age; except of course for the embarrassingly bad ICEL liturgy.

It was Fr. Scalia who introduced me to the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. If anyone wishes to pray that Our Lord will heal Father’s heart after this loss, the Chaplet is my suggestion.

It really doesn’t matter.

The only certainties are that a) the descendants involved will do whatever they see fit and b) we will be too dead to care.

Hey now, that’s what Lazarus thought…

“Martha, you had me buried wearing an old Members Only jacket? C’mon!”

Literally LOL.

Unfortunately the only other example I can think of would be too irreverent to use. 😊

On the topic of the thread, this past Sunday, the parish bookstore was full of people exclaiming about how great Fr. Scalia’s homily was. It was nice to hear how much everyone liked it. 🙂
