Funeral Mass

I just got back from a Funeral Mass. Our regular Priest was unable to do the Mass, so one from another parish did it instead. We did’nt say the creed and a few other things were left out. Is this normal for a funeral Mass? Thanks, Tim
 
Yes it omits this and the Gloria as well. I believe the blessing of the people is omitted too.

Please correct me if I am wrong though. I am shooting from the hip on this one.
 
Sounds about right. The last funeral I went to was a Byzantine funeral with quite alot going on. It was a beautiful set of service’s. During this funeral, I couldn’t help but feel like this man deserved a likewise sendoff. Thanks for the information. Tim
