What is the structure of a Funeral Service. Like at what stages are the prayers said and all that, or where is somewhere i can find out?

If you can find a missal (not the missalette) at a local bookstore (or order online if you can’t), the complete funeral Mass (and the readings, where there are some choices) can be found there.

Hi.

I’m writing as if you are a non-Catholic, so bear with me if you are familiar with some of what I say.

The great thing about being Catholic is that, with a couple of exceptions in the year, our religious service is typically the same year-round (the readings from the Bible change, of course).

Special occasions such as baptisms, weddings and funerals ask of us to add a special rite, which occurs immediately after the priest’s ‘sermon’ (we call it the homily).

As noted, the missal, or guide for Catholic Mass contains the specifics. Online, this web site from St. Jude Catholic Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana spells out many questions and answers, and details the Order of Christian Funerals (see it about mid-way down the page).

If you have further questions about what you see, just ask.

The book you are looking for is the Order of Christian Funerals
