To further my research into both sides of the arguments I was wondering if the fine people here could lead me to Apologetical forums by the following churches: Baptist, Southern Baptist, Pentacostal, United Pentacostals, Seventh Day Adventist, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Jehovas Witness.

Do a search on yahoo or google. I’ve found this forum that way.🙂

I think CARM.Org has forums with most of the churches you are speaking of.👍

ALLFORHIM

A member of the forums with over 1600 posts and you are recommending CARM on the CA forums… :tsktsk:

I expected better from you.

ALLFORHIM is not Catholic and is simply giving an answer to the OP. Virtually, any non-Catholic Christian discussion board will have a bias against the Catholic Church. CARM is no exception, but there are boards with an even greater animosity toward the Catholic Church.

It is also fair to say that we show some bias on our own home board of CAF. Hopefully, those that venture to our board and the others will be able to recognize a positive difference here at CAF. If not, then we have plenty of work to do.

CARM bills itself as “non-denominational,” and is an ideal place to learn what that point of view believes.

I don’t know about the rest - I’d recommend Googling. I’m assuming you’re looking for fora that present these points of view from the people who actually hold them - I don’t think CARM’s forum on Jehovah’s Witnesses or Mormons would be very good places to learn about these religions, if their understanding of Catholicism is any guide.

Toten, a while ago I tried really hard to find a Protestant message board where you could have hard-hitting debate but in an unbiased manner, which is what I think you can do here at CAF. After a few tries, I ended up stopping because I just couldn’t find one. The friendly forums wouldn’t let me debate anything, and the debating forums were generally pretty anti-Catholic.

The closest forum I found was actually CARM! At least I was allowed to express my view point there, even though some of the non-Catholics were quite vicious. If you want to debate Catholic doctrine with the people over there, then I hope you have a thick-skin.

CARM is horribly biased from what I have found. I’m sure others will agree with me.😉

Harpazo, Just because CARM has Lorraine Boettner’s Roman Catholicism as recommended reading for our faith doesn’t make them biased in any way. 😉 :whacky:

The people at CARM tend to be beligerent in general IMO, not just towards Catholics. But if you want to see differing opinions… THere are definately plenty of them there.

WOW-- I didnt mean to create a firestorm:eek: I apologize. I gave that website because it has threads on all those different religions. The person wasnt interested in the catholic version(so it seemed) just in those different ones.

I personally dont go there very often.

Thank you Pax for defending me I really was just answering the OP’s question.😃

I don’t think you created a firestorm. Purpose and intent are not always obvious in our posts…we need to work at having more appreciation and understanding for one another. I’ve found your posts to be honest and courteous, and I think that most people that have followed your participation on this forum would agree.

Keep hanging around…1600 plus posts is a great sign. Your interest in spiritual things far exceeds your interest in things that have little or no value.

Like I said before, they are the perfect site to find out about the beliefs of the “non-denominational” Christians.

But as far as going into their Catholic, Mormon, Jehovah’s Witness, Muslim, or other forums that they have at CARM, what you’ll find there is the “non-denominational” belief about those religions - if you want to find out what people really believe, ask them; not their enemies. Which means doing some leg-work, and finding actual Mormons to tell you what Mormons believe, and finding actual Jehovah’s Witnesses to tell you what they believe, etc.
