It is unlikely that this will happen for several years unless they are able to obtain an apostolate in a very large city (e.g., New York, where they currently say Mass and would love to have their own church). They are currently attempting to establish the apostolates they already have and to have multiple priests at each apostolate (something that is called for by their very constitutions, that is, common life). This is even more appropriate now that any priest can freely offer the traditional Mass and any pastor can provide it publicly for his flock. In the long term, this will only be beneficial, not only for the priests of the Fraternity, who will be properly fulfilling their role as members of a society of apostolic life, but also for the faithful, who will receive more prayer in common, especially from the divine office, which has been lacking greatly at almost all their apostolates till now. They will also begin to develop more and more of a parish life rather than just a “mass centre” mentality.
