Hi everyone!I’m new at this.Has anyone ever visited the Carmels in either Brooklyn NY or Danvers MA? They’re two of the ones I’m considering.

Your title made me check your thread!
May Our Lady of Mount Carmel, and all the Carmelite Saints and Blesseds pray for God to guide you and to make you truly Carmelite.

I’ve never visited, but I’ve heard that Brooklyn is incredible. Their Prioress, Mother Maria Luz, has been known to be one of the kindest Prioresses around.

Have you written either cloister?

I sent my name and address to the Religious Ministies website for some info.Several years ago, I was writing back and forth with the Novice Mistress in Danvers, but I never got up there to visit.Hopefully I will this time!

Have you ever looked into the Carmel of the Holy Name of Jesus in Denmark, WI? It’s the one that I feel most attracted to, and I think their website is very beautiful, with a lot of information, including a timetable/horarium of their day:

I have been wanting to go for a visit, but I just got in touch with Mother Mary Elizabeth, so I need to wait for her permission. Plus, I don’t have a job, so I have to be patient. 🙂

is there any particular thing you are wondering about either?

Many prayers as you continue to discern.
