That smiley just makes me laugh…

I#1 In the OT?

You know, maybe it was all that humble pie I ate yesterday that prevented me from making the winning guess 😃

In reality, I got distracted, then left to run errands (and decided not to turn around to make the guess…my loss :o ). I snoozed, so I losed.

Anyhow, for the next game…

Is the verse in the Old Testament?

#1 In the OT? No
**#2 **Is the verse in the Old Testament? (mtr01, have another go)
#3 is there a number in the book title? No

Hey, that was pretty interesting, st_felicity and I posted the same question at exactly the same time!

However, since the last question could remove a big chunk of books from contention, I’ll wait to see the answer before I ask my next question 😉

Good idea. That’s why I sometimes wait to ask a question. I don’t want to waste them, especially if someone else has a really good one.

A letter of Paul’s?
#5 Yes! :bounce:

Wise move! 👍
#6 Yup! :yup:

Now here’s a question–I’m not sure if its fair to count it (I’m so sneaky, trying to get one in under the radar…) Do you consider Hebrews a letter of Paul’s? It has been attributed to him, but there has also been a concensus of many that it was written by someone else…

If you say yes…are we to assume it’s in Hebrews? because otherwise, to get the question answered, I have to use two questions–

OR I guess I could just use one aand ask if it is Hebrews, but then, if you do not recognize Hebrews as written by Paul, I shouldn’t have to use a question at all to know that Hebrews has been eliminated.

Is there really a question here? Or are there several?
Confused???:whacky:

Ok, now I’ll ask my question 😃 and the two previous questions notwithstanding my question is:

Is the epistle addressed to a Person?

Ok, I won’t take the first part as an actual question per se, but treat it as a point of clarification. In every reference to the grouping of the books, I have seen, it has included Hebrews as one of the Pauline / New Testament Letters, so I will say Hebrews **is **a Pauline letter.

7 Is it in Hebrews? No

#8 is it in Romans? No

#9 Is the epistle addressed to a Person? Yes!

it’s like babies–if you wait for the perfect time to make your move–it will never happen…
Valid point!

Felicity has reminded me of a question I have concerning the allocation of the books. I have seen some references which place Acts as part of the Gospels, and others which refer to it as a NT Historical book; also I thought the Pentateuch refered to the first 5 books of the OT, but one reference had the next two books included.
Any light that can be shed on this, would be great. Thanks, and keep up the great effort, everyone! 🙂 👍

SHOOT…my attempt at a free question was thwarted by the ever-clever Shari!

I say: 4 pillars of Faith, 4 seasons, 4 Cardinal directions, 4 corners of the Earth, 4 Beatles smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_1_105.gif --it’s 4 Gospels. Acts is what they do, the Gospels are the Good News!

And if the prefix “pent” doesn’t mean 5–I quit math entirely. I can’t even help my 6th grader do his homework! I SWEAR he’s doing stuff I did in highschool, and that’s why my degree is in English! (Now don’t go correcting my spelling and grammar!😛 )

Thanks Felicity,
You have confirmed my thoughts on the subject. The main reason the Pentateuchconfused me, was it was the NAB from the Offical Vatican site, which had 7 books instead of 5.
I love your beatles! Very cute.
Sorry about question # 7; If you had not meant to ask about Hebrews, scratch the question and ask another.
