Are there games you and your dh enjoy playing together?

I’m looking for fun after dinner ideas that don’t involve a tv or computer. 🙂
 
Yep, I’m looking for suggestions for 2 person games (card games, board games etc) that folks here enjoy. 👍
 
Cribbage, Backgammon, Yahtzee, Trouble, Jenga, are our traditional ones and then just about any game we think interesting.
 
Chess, yahtzee, scrabble, boggle.
Chess is the best. Good for your brain. 🙂
 
Our favorite is Upwords. We “cheat” and allow the use of the dictionary when we’re stuck. We used to use the 3-volume dictionary, but that made the game too long, so now we’re using my old 1-volume Webster’s. 🙂
 
Cooperative games: Pandemic, Forbidden Island, Forbidden Desert

Competitive games: Settlers of Catan (Star Trek version is better for 2 players than the original), Trivial Pursuit, Scrabble
 
We play the card game of Rummy as well as Mexican Train Dominoes, although I enjoy the dominoes much more than my husband does. Maybe women are more fond of games than men?

Not this woman! Upwords & sometimes Rummy are the only games I like to play. When coerced I will play a few others. When the kids were at home Dutch Blitz was also a favorite, but it really takes 4 players to be fun. My husband was the official Game Player when the kids were into things like Candyland.
 
Not exactly a game, but my husband and I like doing crosswords together.
 
I’m not married, but this is a good topic for anybody who likes board games and has a hard time finding potential players. 🙂 I’d hoped when I moved in with a friend with whom I’d played board games in the past that we’d be playing quite a bit. But her interest has run more to movie watching since I’ve been here. Another friend whom I visit, though, does like games. Dominoes, for instance - Mexican Train, Chickenfoot, etc. She and her mother and I had fun on Thanksgiving playing Chickenfoot.

Sequence and Kings In the Corner (jaxgames.com/index.html) are fun. Yahtzee, Scrabble, UpWords, many like that as well.

Mastermind is enjoyable - played that as a kid (my cousin cheated by looking at my mom’s peg colors via the reflection in her glasses - he was ornery!). 😛 Connect 4 or Pente are good strategy games and quick.

Good old checkers and chess . . .

If you have the table space, Monopoly, Game of Life, Battleship and other favorites can be played by two.
 
A lot of people have been mentioning Yahtzee on this thread, so I thought I might mention a few games that people who like Yahtzee might like even more.

King of Tokyo and King of New York are essentially Yahtzee games based around old giant monster movies (think Godzilla and King Kong) where players take on the role of giant monsters, destroying the city and fighting each other in a king of the hill-style battle.

Pandemic: the Cure and Elder Sign are cooperative games where players try to work together to save the world. In the former game, you’re saving the world from four different viruses, and in the latter, you’re saving the world from evil forces emanating from a haunted museum.

Escape: the Curse of the Temple is a real-time game where players are all frantically rolling dice at the same time, trying to get everyone out of the temple in ten minutes or less.

Finally, Roll Through the Ages: the Bronze Age, Roll Through the Ages: the Iron Age, and Nations: the Dice Game all let you build a civilization from the ground up, with the player who built the best civilization winning.
