How far are you willing to go to find God?
for a while I was hoping if God existed he would smite me, so I sinned and sinned, hell i must have spilled enough seed to fill up a bathtub over the years… still no smiting, I challenge God (if he exists) to smite me down… Do you guys hear the virtual crickets chirping? oh they’re all around us now… They aren’t afraid of your god and neither am I

I don’t believe you. You must show me proof.
Just got done with page 46 and so far the only thing I’ve gotten out of it is that science and the scientific method should take all the blame for all the troubles in our world.

Perhaps your delusional? You have to manifest yourself in front of me and actually read the book before my eyes before I am going to consider it proof. Perhaps you don’t really exits, solipsism is the truth and you are my entertainment for the night? Yeah, I don’t think I will believe in you tonight.

Oooooo k.

Yes, there are militant (i.e., fundamentalist) atheists who are just as rabid in their beliefs as some theists would be.
Sue, but that has nothing to do with atheism, its not a belief system.

Nor am i, for its silly to be scared of things that don’t exist. However if the god of the bible did exist i would be VERY scared of it, for it is clearly absolutely insane!

God’s relationship with you is like a father to a son. The son goes off does all the bad stuff then comes home. The father greets him with open arms. With God you have hope right down to your very last living moment to say you are sorry and repent.

What hope does an atheist have? None that he recognizes, but we know there is always hope. Hope for you.

Hope vs despair. I will choose hope any day.

Hi blortog, why would you want God to smite you in order to prove His existence? Do you think you should be afraid of Him?

P.S. He loves you and I rather think that He’s led you here. I will pray for you blortog.

?

Not all atheists are secular humanists. Atheism doesn’t call for any particular social, political, or moral ideology, all of which are stated or implied by most religions.

Yes, but I was refering to militant atheists, and they do indeed have an agenda.

I too am a believer in evolution but was interested in a podcast on Catholic Radio International which had an interview with a Turkish moslem creationist doctor Dr Babuna.

catholicradiointernational.com/heartofmatter.php

One of Babunas main points to support inteligent design centres around the enormous complexity of living organisms, such as the number of amino acids that must be correctly assembled in a particular sequence to form a protein and that the odds of this happening narurally were mathematically impossible.

Following the program i googled him and found that Babuna and his associates seem to have been discredited on a personal level including recently being thrown out of a Vatican conference on evolution. However, i could not find anything that categorically refutes the point described above i.e. the odds of the amino acids being sequenced correctly.

Can anyone shed more light on this issue?
One of the mistakes Creationists make is using ‘odds’ that seem to be ‘impossible’ to try to back up their ideas. They are simply not familiar with the law of large numbers. Try this. Hold out a deck of cards to a Creationist and have them draw fifteen of them. Then ask which were drawn and in which order. You can then, with all truth and seriousness, tell them that the odds of them drawing that particular sequence are trillions to one against, and so they must not have drawn them- God must have created them in their hand.

Yes, it is a belief system and it has its own agenda too (secular humanism).
No its not. If you are an athiest the ONLY thing it means is you reject the claims of the existence of the gods proposed by man.

Again showing your ignorance.
You dont think mass genocide, encouraging rape, slavery and torturing people for eternity insane? The god of the bible is one of, if not the most evil character in the whole of fiction. Even if it did exist i wouldn’t worship it, i would believe it existed but i couldn’t worship that.
